Gibson's Construction has been established since 1996 we are family owned and operated and we offer full range of construction services and grading from medium to large jobs. We are a father and son team and use the best people and materials that we can find. We do not hire subcontractors because we do the work ourselves on-site to make sure they job is done right! we do contract price only. We will give a 10% discount for Angie's List members. We do the highest quality of work and services and do not take short cuts or bandaid fixes. With decades of experience and continued top service we are here to help. David did an excellent job as always. He added gravel and scrapped the driveway which is now as smooth as driving a street. This is perhaps the fourth or fifth time David has done our driveway. He is always meticulous in his work.

David was fantastic as usual! We didn't know he could also do some electrical work until we asked for a referral for an electrician. Will always use him for driveway maintenance and tree removal but will also hire for any future electrical issues as well.

David recently did some interior work for me. One of those was installing a Ditra heated floor system by Schluter and then tiling it. David said he had done this numerous times so I trusted his expertise. After 18 days of the premixed adhesive not drying and being told by David that there must be something wrong with the chemical makeup of the adhesive (all 8 buckets) He said he had written the adhesive company emails about the product’s inability to dry but I never saw any even tho I repeatedly asked. I went on the Schluter website and they PROHIBIT the use of premixed adhesive on this flooring system, I asked David to call the Schluter company and he refused. All the tile had to be removed, along with a huge amount of wet adhesive. David would accept no responsibility (neither personal nor financial) for the project’s failure. I repeatedly requested for him to meet me half way with the big financial expense I was out, he said no and continued on with denying responsibility. Updated 10/29/24 Initially I hired David to secure my foundation, I thought he did a great job….please read my earlier reviews. The response David Gibson wrote to my review is a LIE…I NEVER ripped up the tile, NEVER said I wanted a different flooring, my neighbor did NOT write the review he said she did. Do YOU know ANYONE who decides after spending THOUSANDS of dollars on materials/labor that decides to rip it all up ? NO !!! David GIBSON is LIAR ! And takes NO responsibility for his mistakes.

"we have been doing multiple jobs and we got to the kitchen portion and she had went and purchased the hated floor system tile and tile set from a dealer so we laid the tile down and on Friday 24th we had showed up to grout the tile and set the cabinets inside and everything and prepare the installed that portion on Monday the 27th. we showed up Monday the 27th to install the cabinets,sink and plumbing. when I walked in the kitchen I was in shock she had actually pulled up a third of the floor and ruined the tile I asked her why did she do this she said on Saturday she seen engineered hardwood floor she liked and would rather have that so she decided to pull up the tile without me knowing it or even contact me! she said she want to pull up all of it before I got there so we could put down hardwood floors but she said it was too hard for her to pull up the rest so she wanted us to pull up the rest of the floor so we did and she was supposed to order the hardwood floor. Note: several times during project she would watch home improvement shows and change something in the middle of a project. Wednesday morning we showed up to work I said good morning like I do every morning to everybody and she started cussing me and acting extremely volitale this seemed out of her character because it was it made no sense. to make a long story short we loaded our tools and left the job site because of her behavior that was unprofessional but down right verbally abusive! and when I read this review it even puzzled me further? she watched home improvement show decided she did not want tile and took it upon herself without me knowing on a Saturday tear up the floor because she wanted engineered hardwood floors! but yet she says I'm responsible for half the cost when she's the one that purchased the floor system and the materials and she's the one that tore up the floor not us! and to make another point on that Friday she wrote me a check that she had insufficient funds and bounced on the Monday! she admitted to me on Monday that there was a problem with her account but she went ahead and wrote the check anyway! and what makes matters worse I looked at this review above this one and realize that was her friend that actually came over to look at the work we was doing so she got her friend a purposely write a false review! we done everything we could with this project, there was nothing wrong with the tile or anything. she took it upon herself to rip up a third of the floor and ruin the tile because she wanted a different type flooring and this was done without me knowing or anything. I am lost for words on this because I don't understand the reasoning behind it! we do our best to help people and everybody loves the things that we do they're very happy with it"

Contacted David regarding a heavy impact to a commercial building. He was prompt to respond and came out providing an estimate as promised. He was extremely professional, and very knowledgeable of how the impact effected different areas of the building and most importantly load bearing posts and the foundation. While working he was very conscientious of employees and clients being sure to let us know when he would be using loud equipment necessary for repairs. Areas outside the building he put caution tape to ensure everyone’s safety. Competed job in a very timely manner and was polite and a pleasure to work with. Would absolutely hire again.

David Gibson is truly a gem. I hasten to speak his praises too much as then he’ll be really difficult to get to do work….but he’s too great not to share. After dealing with a bunch of slimy contractors David is like a breath of fresh air. The main focus of the work was supporting the floors and adding a proper sump pump to drain away from the foundation. He’s knowledgeable, hardworking and honest, went above and beyond, and exceeded what my o’ so low expectations of contractors has become. His Dad often accompanies him and assists David in some projects….they are both a pleasure to work with. I’d hire him again in a heartbeat…and indeed I am.

This was the second time that we were fortunate to have David and his father work on our very old, mountain log cabin. He found and repaired many issues to the foundation, joists, outside wall, and leveling everything up. Crawl space is limited, but they were able to reach the areas. Again, his work is perfection.

I would highly recommend David. After finding him on Angi, I had him inspect a slope and retaining wall on a house we are looking to purchase in Franklin. The home inspector had noted some settling of the porch, and I worried about the stability of the slope underneath the porch. The current owners had a local person build a retaining wall a few years prior, and they were convinced that any erosion issues had been resolved. However, David immediately pointed out to me that the current retaining wall wasn't built properly and was failing to do its job. Already, there was so much erosion that he could literally slide his hand under the base of the retaining wall, and he warned that we were sitting on a time bomb. In fact, David said it would literally be only a matter of months before we had a much bigger problem on our hands. I contacted the owners, and -- about a month later-- they agreed to have David fix the problem. Even from the time when David first came out, more erosion had occurred in the ensuing several weeks -- just as he had warned. He did a great job of building a much more substantial wall and also graded the top of the driveway to fix a drainage issue. I can't imagine the mess we'd have had to deal with if the problem had not been addressed. Before contacting David, I'd spent a good bit of time researching contractors in the area. The mountains are wonderful, but they are also home to a number of contractors who do very questionable work (as evidenced by the contractor who built the first retaining wall). When I saw that David had over 250 positive reviews on Angi, I knew I'd found our contractor! He did not disappoint. If you're looking for someone you can trust to do slope or foundation work, look no further. David is your man.

David did a wonderful job repairing our wood floors, subfloor, joists, foundation, and outside drainage. It took me two years to locate the right contractor with the level of knowledge, experience, dedication, creativity, confidence, and willingness to work on our 200 year old log cabin with a 60 year old foundation. The floor system was failing from the ground up. I found David on this website. The glowing reviews confirmed that I had found the right person to match with the needed repairs. It was a lot of hard, physical labor involved. David cared about our historic cabin and removed the old floor boards carefully so that they could be re installed. The floors are level and strong now. He completed the project in under three weeks. There are so many other issues that he discovered and repaired. I will hire him again for phase two and three! We needed a creative solution to address a very steep bank and drainage issue in the backyard of a house we just bought for our parents. Dave was super engaged and very thoughtful about the design options that would address the water drainage concerns while being very attentive to our desire to have a very natural look, including us in all aspects of the project design and implementation. He ended up building a four tiered, terraced retaining wall, installed a gravel drainage system, stone steps and railing, and some additional landscape cleanup and grading. The outcome exceeded our expectations, in large part due to Dave’s attention to detail and listening to the customer. He went out of his way to consider the needs of my aging parents with respect to the hard scape work (steps with railing) and ensured the choice of all materials met our preferences. Highly recommend him for any challenging grading, water drainage, hard scape/ retaining wall issues you might have.

What a wonderful surprise. David came to see what I wanted done, needed a unique retaining wall built, terrace created and it was created even better than I thought it could ever be....wonderful ideas, always communicating because I was seldom there...completed exactly on time...no additional time needed nor was there more costs past his initial estimate for the job. David is very knowledgeable with regard to water run off and/or problems, permanent drains, graded the road....I could not be happier. David is wonderful, honest, and knowledgeable. He came out and looked at my foundation when there was concern years before. Patched it and suggested we keep an eye on it as my modular home had been placed on the foundation recently. When I realized my foundation was defiantly getting worse a few years later we contacted him. We did have to wait for a visit but it was well worth it as, once he was here, he went right to work doing a thorough check and providing lots of information. He returned quickly to put braces in many places and patch cracks, attached our porch, ran drainage pipe away from the house and did he best to correct shotty work done when the house was placed. He likely saved our home! He also kept us informed while he worked, sending pictures with explanations as he found issues and even warning us if he needed to drill which could be noisy (it didn't bother us). We hope to have Gibson's Grading and Construction help with a driveway project in the future. I can not recommend him enough! If you need someone to call when something important needs to be done... right. Call Gibson's.
