Chuck Franklin

Chuck and another guy took about a week (weather interrupted a bit) to do the whole job - it looks beautiful - they were immaculate with their clean up and very prompt.

I called a supposedly reputable company about a roof issue.  The owner brought a roofer with him whom I assumed worked for the company.  I was wrong.  Chuck Franklin has his own business and the owner was sub-contracting the job out.  I paid him $300 for materials and then wrote him a check for $425.  Paid in full.   I DID NOT check his work out as I should have. This work was completed on a rental.  The tenant called and said the ceiling on the decks was still leaking and was really no better than before the repair.   He also stated that he noticed the new deck boards (the old ones had to be removed to begin the roof repairs) were not cut flush with the old deck boards and the pickets were therefore angled out and looked poorly secured.   Chuck had verbally guaranteed his work and stated it would never leak.  I came out and belatedly checked his work.  it was just as the tenant described.  Despite repeated phone calls and one threatening letter, Chuck did not honor his work and never came out to the property again.  DON'T USE HIM!!!  The work was performed on a rental in Candler, NC.

His rates were very affordable and he did the job very quickly. He was really easy to work with. He had the best price that I found in town. He was right on his estimate.

It did not go that well. It took more than 2 months. The workmanship was not good, there are ripples all over the roof, including a terrible looking ridgeline. He did fix the worst workmanship a little, which took him ten minutes. His warranty changed from our initial agreement drastically. He bid the job with a lifetime warranty, and when I asked for it in writing at the end of the job, he wrote TWO years. Then, after all that, he reduced his price another hundred dollars. The outcomes was not positive for either of us. I am dissatisfied.

He was very professional and timely. He had the information we needed and it was all very good.

Good experience all the way around.....On time and within budget.  Highly recommended!

Chuck responded to my voicemail quickly and came out to the house the next day. He quickly diagnosed the problems and pointed them out to ensure my understanding. Very easy going Chuck was able to complete the project same day in the matter of a couple hours. Certainly knows his way around a roof. While it hasn't rained yet I am confident his repairs solved my problem! Great experience overall.

My life was a nightmare due to sudden returning rains and the realization that the roof I thought was sound, wasn't. After getting numerous estimates and opinions, I chose Chuck to re-place that terrible roof. He did a great job and handled my obvious frustrations (not related to his work, you understand, but the situation of needing another full roof) so well. He is a champion, as far as I am concerned.

I had a really bad roof installed last year. It was a nightmare once I realized the entire roof was going to need to be redone only a year later. Because of this experience I was very picky about who I had work on it this time. I had numerous estimates, evaluations and inspections before choosing Chuck. He was a very good choice for me. He was experienced, quality focused and made no bones about what it would take. His pricing was very fair. I would say he is a slower than average worker, but his quality is well worth it. He takes his time to do a good job. Two other friends of mine had Chuck do their job. They both were pleased with his work. He is a very likeable man- personable, helpful and cheerful.
