Daryl came out and gave me a quote for repaving and sealing my driveway. He said that if I paid for the 5 year seal he would guarantee the driveway for 5 years. That was in November 2013. He arrived when he said he would, tore up the old driveway and repaved using B type asphalt. By April of 2014 the driveway was starting to fail. Although the job called for putting down 4 inches of asphalt which would compress to 3 inches, the underlying stone was coming through the top of the paving, In other places the driveway was crumbling and cracking. About 90% of the driveway was breaking up and needed to be replaced. I called Daryl in April and told him what was happening and what I got was excuses. First he couldn't afford to repair the drive and then he had too much work and would get to it as soon as he could. He finally came out in November of 2014 and cut out a few places and up putty over other areas. The areas he cut out he replaced with A type Asphalt. This is considerably finer and not appropriate for my steep drive plus it looked terrible with patches all over the place.
Given this experience, I asked him to sign another contract that said once I notified him of a problem he had one month to fix it or I had the right to have someone else fix the drive. He signed it and I felt much more at ease. At the time of this signing and his patching the asphalt producers were closed so we agreed that he would come out April 3, 2016 to complete the repairs. That date came and went. When I called him about the repair he said that the asphalt companies weren't making the asphalt yet however when I called they said they were making Type B but not type A. He patched with type a which did not match my drive which was type B. He also told me that in order for the asphalt to stick, it needed at least an inch of depth. The patches he put in the previous year were not only the wrong type of asphalt, they weren't even with the rest of the driveway and they weren't the necessary 1 inch lower so that the new asphalt would stay in place.
I asked him if he was planning on doing 3/4 of the driveway in one asphalt and 1/4 in another type but got no answer. When he said that he was waiting for the asphalt companies to start producing asphalt, he meant they were not yet producing the wrong kind of asphalt for my drive and I would be left with a driveway that was supposed to be new but would instead be 3/4 one type of asphalt, 1/4 another type of asphalt and all of it uneven.
This man is a con man and I would advise anyone to have nothing to do with him. He does not fulfill his contracts but is happy to take the money for it.
Avoid this company like the plague!!!!!!!
When I called and tried to explain this to them, the company refused to return my calls or rectify their work.
"I was called to put up a small speed bump type curb at the end of a gravel driveway to keep the gravel from comin onto asphalt. Customer wanted cheapest remedy possible. Gravel does not spill over onto asphalt. The "bump" was not a factor at that time. He got what he wanted. Did not want to spend $1200 to pave further..."
PLEASE save yourself $$$ and aggravation by using another company!

"This job was to patch over an area that had a water line leak. I was assured it had been properly compacted. Since I did not dig nor refill the 6ft deep hole, I told customer I could not warranty the patch. Well upon his impatientNess on day 1 of his calling...I arrived day 2 spent 2hrs on phone with his credit card co. And also repacked the areas a 2nd time just for good measures. ..Your welcome"
Darrel came out on promptly and when he said to give me and estimate. The estimate seemed reasonable and so we scheduled for the work. He kept me appraised of the weather and how it was affecting the schedule and started as soon as the weather allowed. The driveway came out beautiful- a very professional job. He even took out a lump in the drive that was obscuring our vision as we drove up the drive. The sealing was done after the drive had cured and only added to the beauty of the work he had already done.
I would highly recommend him to anyone. He also does plowing during the winter and I've already talked to him about doing that for me too.
