It was advertised, and I don't have the exact figures, but it was advertised as an inspection and cleaning of heat pump system and when they got here they said "no, it's an inspection only". So, I got really angry at them and I showed them what Angie's List had stated what they were supposed to do. Basically, I called up the company while their service people were here and they said, "no that's not true" and I said, "then why did you advertise this as a cleaning?" So, I persisted and they agreed to clean it. To me it was false advertising. And, while they were here, they also discovered that I needed to have some kind of coil, or some kind of condenser or some kind of fuse or something like that. That did end up costing about $100. It was somewhere around $105 to $110 to have it inspected and cleaned and have this capacitor or whatever it was replaced. The fact that I had to call them and insist that they do what they advertise to do, I would give them a "D". If I hadn't had been so insistent, they wouldn't have done what they did, but they did agree to do it. I don't think that professionals advertise one thing and then bait and switch when they arrive.

In January 2013, we purchased a home constructed in 1974. The heat output was negligible and looking around in the crawl space I noted numerous cracks and gaps in the ducts and the HVAC unit was loaded with dust and dirt. AirRich was called and Mr Jones first performed a service check on the unit replacing the filter, cleaning, lubing, and repairing a switch which took about 2 hours. He also replaced the mercury switch (ancient) thermostat with a new programmable controller. Performance improved immediately and we had heat.
He noted the poor state of the duct-work and commented that it appeared to be the original materials since he had never seen or worked with anything similar. We made arrangements for a two phased replacement which I scheduled about a week apart. Return ducts were replaced first and distribution about a week later. As a side note, as I cleaning out some items under the house, I found a 1988 article stuck in one of the return boxes, so I'm pretty sure this duct work was under the house for close to 40 years. It was in terrible shape.
The results are wonderful. We get plenty of air moving around and it is cool or warm as managed by the controller. I haven't had to adjust the temp in going on three weeks. I only touch the controller to turn it off on a cool day when we open the windows.
The system is very efficient now. Since we did this work within a month or so of moving in, I can't say what the effect on the electric bill may have been, but I find the bill to be very reasonable compared to previous experience.
I plan to use AirRich again for some other planned work.

The service was great they came out and fixed it and then found out it is leaking Freon so set up att. to have it fixed They were very professional and nice, as well as on time.

Our A/C unit stopped working yesterday evening and today when we couldn't figure it out we called Richard. He was at the house an hour and a half later and had it fixed in minutes. He explained everything and went above and beyond. His price was much lower than we expected and he gave us a military discount. Will definitely call him in the future.

After turning on my AC for the first time this year, I smelled a burning smell throughout the house and immediately cut off the system preferring not to burn down my home. Called Richard at 5:32pm (they were closed as per their listed hours)after reading reviews on here. He called me back promptly the next morning and left a message. I called him back as my schedule allowed later in the afternoon and I was extremely lucky that he was able to stop by about 15 minutes later. Super nice guy, he arrived, got to work and diagnosed a burnt capacitor for the motor that blows my unit throughout my house. Lucky again in that the motor was fine and the capacitor was only $30 for the part to replace. He recalibrated my thermostat and had the part replaced in about 20 minutes. Total charge was $109 but after honoring the $25 AL coupon, total charge was $84. Seemed a fair price for his expertise, professionalism and again working AC unit.
