This has been a nightmare after about three months into the ordeal. I am thankful this is not my primary mode of transportation. I took my vehicle to this location after I found working on the engine was too much for me due to time and lack of tools. The BMW sat for quite a while by the owner I bought this from, which caused engine problems. I drove the car to this location and asked for it to be looked at. I did tell the owner I was in no hurry to finish it because I wanted it fixed right and tested before I picked it back up. It had an oil leak somewhere for sure. The owner did a good job calling me initially with what the problem was and the approximate cost involved. The first call was about one month after having the car. He said the compression was not too good, but also not too bad, but that would have to be fixed. A couple months passed and I called him for an update. He said he hadn't pulled the engine yet. He mentioned something about the cams being redone, and that would cost an extra $200 or so. I agreed. Several months passed. I called him, and the engine was out. At that time, he asked about having the windshield insulation being replaced because it was really worn. I knew it was, and I agreed. Several months passed. I called again. He said the windshield had actually broke upon removing it. He apologized and said he would only charge for the glass and no labor to install it. I did wonder why he never called me to let me know these things and why it always had to be me to initiate contact. I called again several months later, and no progress had been made. I already paid him about $3000 in advance. Big mistake. It had now been one year and six months with this car and still the engine was out. He said he was still waiting on the cams to be returned from the manufacturer. I asked exactly how much everything was now going to cost. He stated something to the effect that it would be much more than originally stated. I never received anything in writing to this point. I asked him when the car would be finished. He said that I had told him to take his time. I explained by telling him that it did not mean to keep it for years on end and that I would like to see the car completed before I died, and asked when it would be done. He remained non-committed. I then asked him for a written estimate. I was rather upset. He did not want  to commit sending an estimate, but he finally said he would get one out to me. I was floored when the written estimate was over $2100 above the original verbal estimate! I asked if I could just come and have the car towed to another location. He said I would have to pay for services already performed above the $3k I already paid. Unbelievable! Over a year and a half with this car, an engine that is still out "being worked on", and with $3k of my money with nothing to show for it. It has now been 2 full years with the car in their possession. The owner has since passed, and another employee has taken over the shop. I explained the whole situation to him. This was about three months ago. He said he had to research everything. He said he had been the one actually working on the engine. It was sitting in the shop on the floor with a tarp over it. It looked good as far as appearance. He said he would get back with me. Two weeks later, I had to call and ask for an update. I provided him copies of my receipts and he thanked me. He said he would be in touch. Two weeks later I called again. He said he would work with me regarding getting the cost down to the original estimate. I began to have some hope. Several weeks later I had to call back and ask for an update. He said the engine was in the car, and that he only had to attach the drive train or something like that. I said OK, and asked when it would be ready. He said he was pretty busy and to give him a couple weeks. I asked if he would call me or if I should call him. After some hesitation, I said that I would call him in two weeks. To date, I have not been able to get in touch with him by phone now. I have left a message on the phone with no return phone call provided. This is unbelievable! Seeing over 20 cars on the lot should have given me a clue that something was wrong with job completion. When I did check on the car, the drive train was sitting inside the car along with other filthy parts. I think I know how the windshield was actually broken now. I searched for some customer feedback about Boggs Motor Works on the Internet, and coincidently there was another customer or two who stated their windshield had also mysteriously broke while in Boggs possession, along with costs being very much higher than quoted. Something is obviously wrong with this service provider, and I HIGHLY recommend you avoid Boggs Motor Works like the plague. You will regret ever coming into contact with the company. STAY AWAY at all costs, and avoid terrible disappoint. I have never in my life received such terrible service. I thought it only happened in horror movies.
