"In response to a complaint to "Angies List" filed by the member, dated 12/3/10, in regards to the equipment installed on 1/18/10; the installed cost for the Pure Air Purification system was $1,349.00. The additional expenses incurred were for (2) Service Calls on the existing gas furnace, that were performed independent of the installation and at later dates. Air monitoring equipment was used before and 2 times after installation and this showed improvement to well above industry standards. At no time during the monitoring process was the base line show at an elevated level. There was spiking at specific times that coincided with chemical spikes. These returned to normal within a short time. They have an unvented range hood and a large dog and the home is fully carpeted, which may have caused this condition. The customer still complained of particles striking his head and face and stated he had to wear safety goggles and a knit cap while in the house. Men were sent out to inspect the ducting and found no evidence of erosion of the ducting. At his request they made a list of materials to replace the fiberglass ducting. The customer was quoted our normal pricing for duct replacement. He felt we should do it for free. As a compromise, management offered to do it at cost. At that time, 12/17/10, we did not have a firm commitment or signed contract to proceed with the work. We can remove what the customer considers the source of tile "particles" but cannot guarantee "satisfaction" as a definitive term. On 3/1/11 he signed a contract to have the supply duct replaced with metal duct under the agreed conditions. The ducting was replaced on 3/2/11 and was billed at cost on 3/21/11 and we received the payment of $1 ,200.00 on 4/11/11. At this time nothing more can be accomplished to address any perceived conditions he feels he may have. Jim Kautz-Sales/Design"
