CAROLINA BASEMENT SYSTEMS

Installation went well.  When I asked about damp spots on floor some weeks later was told it takes time for the cement to dry. All dried but one and one area of existing floor.  Was contacted by them late Nov. early  Dec. 2011 stating that pump required a service check.  An appointment was made for 1pm, do not remember the date but soon thereafter.  Received a call at 10am that day from man to do the service that he was near by, I told him I had a 10:45 appt. and had to be gone by 10:30, he said he could be here in 5 minutes.  At 10:20am he still was not here and I called him to tell him I had to leave and I would be here for our 1pm appt.  He said he was unable to make that and got rather nasty.  I called the owner the next day or day after and asked that he contact me after the holidays to resedule the service check, he never called nor did he return any of my many calls in the weeks that followed.  I contacted the company that makes the system for a referral to another company in area who could do the pump service check.  They were very professional and were out within the week and on time.  Was informed by them that the system was not installed properly and that is why there is this wet area, as it was  not pitched correctly, and why areas of cement is cracking as ditch is too shallow and cement over it is too thin and will contiue to crack.
Owner finally contacted me only after a left a message saying if he didn't I was going to file a complaint with the BBB, this call came 3 minutes after I did so.  I left that message a week ago also and gave him 3 days of which he did not respond.  His response was extremely rude and he refused to accept any responsabilty. I did let him know the cracks had appeared, and there was still that wet area, which he said was not uncommon. I told him I had someone else come out and do the service check.  He said since you got someone else you don't need me and hung up.  Have since spoke with the system company and there should be no wet area if done right nor cracks.

This was true customer service. Not looking for a job, Sean showed up on time and addressed what he thought my problems were which ended up with no work for him. I would trust him immensely in the future to tell me the truth about work that needs to be done.
