The insurance company sent a "lightening damage" expert to inspect the unit.  He spent about 2 hours inspecting and taking photographs of the unit.  His diagnosis was a loose wire at the terminal block that resulted in "reactive heating" fusing several wires together and blowing a fuse.  The HVAC system was not damaged by lightening or a power surge.  The system had failed due to damage caused by a poor electrical connection at the auxiliary heat bank terminal block.   I called  another AC/Heating Company who repaired the problem in about 45 minutes.  The unit now works perfectly.  It is of note that I previously had a preventative maintenance contract with Anderson Heating and AC that was to provide biannual checks of the system.  They checked it once----subsequent calls 6 months later to inspect the units again as provided by the contract were never returned.   Errors in judgement are understandable, but there is no excuse for poor customer service.  I had the impression that they were more interested in selling me a new unit and will not use their services again.

Last summer, we had this company service our AC because it was switching off to HEAT and blowing HOT air. Needless to say, since it was summer, we were sweating like crazy cause this AC would not work right. Anderson Heating and Air came out and they would say it was this or it was that causing the problem.....they even had the nerve to say it was a black widow spider that spun a web on inside the unit causing the problem --- they actually gave us a bill for "cleaning out the black widow spider's web" --- I was like ARE YOU KIDDING ME! well, every time they came out, nothing got fixed -- they kept saying it was fine --- and it was not!!! They had to come to the house like 10 times, before they finally found the problem!!!! The last time they came, the actual boss guy came out and looked. The techs they have hired there are really not that bright! I was just SO UNHAPPY with these people. I do not recommend their services AT ALL.

If you decide to use them, get another quote/opinion like I did.

The work was pretty good, but I don't feel that they lived up to what they were supposed to do. They did not respond well to my concerns.

They are very knowledgeable about our equipment. We have been using them for probably about five years. It's nice because it's the same people year after year.
