Kim's Professional Painting

The areas were painted with an exterior acrylic latex paint and shortly after the back stairs (which have high tread) started to peel. Upon inspection by Kim, the owner, I was told that the trouble spots would need to be sanded and the back stairs repainted however our dogs could not walk on the stairs for 20 days. I contacted the manufacturer/store where the paint was purchased and they stated that the paint does not take that long to cure and should now be used on in high tread areas. I was also told that that sell a porch and patio paint as well as concrete paint. When I spoke with Kim again, I informed her of what I had been told and she stated that the acrylic paint was fine however now they were going to use a porch and patio paint on the back stairs. When I asked her about painting the front porch as well, due to it not being done correctly, she stated "there is nothing with it right now." I explained to her that I did not want to have the same issue later down the line (simply because it is a lower traffic area). She stated that "Now you are just being silly. I am not going to listen to this." and hung up on me. So, I do not recommend, Kim's Professional Painting. Kim makes you feel like it is an inconvenience to bring up problems to her and blows up issues that could be solved in simple ways.

I contacted Kims Professional Painting requesting a quote for painting the ceilings in my home. Rachel responded quickly and we set up a time for the estimate. I received the estimate that afternoon and it was very competitive. The work was scheduled and the crew showed up on time and performed the work in a day and a half. Definitely would recommend Kim's Professional Painting.

2 rooms turned out ok, but 2 others were far from "paint ready", unless you like seeing numerous depressions & ridges throughout the walls. Our contract stated "paint ready". This was not the case for the 2 rooms. Owner stated that if we wanted to pay her more money, that she would charge us by the hour to fix the walls. She also told us that if we had "her" paint the walls, that we would not have the problems with the walls. Painting the walls had nothing to do with the wall surface of the the walls. We felt like she was just trying to get more money out of us to cover the fact that the walls had some serious surface defects that the workers failed to get right.

We called Kim the week before we had movers scheduled, after giving up on trying to repaint one of the rooms in our new house ourselves. To our delight, she was actually able to get a crew in to paint that very weekend before we moved. She showed up on schedule with a crew of six, every last one of whom spoke fluent English as well as being friendly, polite, and skilled. We had them paint the bonus room and three bedrooms, including the master bedroom with tray ceiling, and they all look great. The contrast between the rooms Kim's team painted and the other rooms is almost laughable. Whoever painted the house before left grit in the paint, paint drips, wall paint on the ceiling and other surfaces, etc., but in the rooms done by Kim's crew it's all clean, crisp lines and fresh, smooth walls. I’m sensitive to chemical odors, but she uses Sherwin-Williams no-VOC paint and I could barely smell anything even right after they were done. 

 We were so happy with the results in the new house we had her do repairs and paint in the house we were selling.  We had a couple of water leak repairs and mildew to fix, as well as drywall damage from the move and teenagers, and when Kim’s people were finished with it, you literally could not tell there had ever been any damage. Our Realtor commented that our painters had done a great job. They are outstanding at drywall repair – we just had them take all the drapery hardware and nails and screws out wherever they were painting, and when they were done we couldn’t tell where any of it had been. Cleanup is generally very good. There was one paint drop on the carpet, but she had one of her guys come back and he got it out completely.

 Kim herself is so great to work with.  Whatever came up she just calmly took care of it. We were stressing over paint colors, and she had suggestions we wound up loving. We wanted to paint the master bedroom the same color as in the old house, but couldn’t remember the name of it, and armed with the name of the previous painter and approximate date, she went to Sherwin Williams and found out what it was for us. We had forgotten a couple of things that needed to be done, and another vendor did some damage in the middle of the job, and she just had her people fix it all while they were there, for a small additional cost. They even touched up a few spots that weren’t in the original quote but used the same paint. Her prices are not rock bottom, but they are very good for what you get, and significantly less than one of the other quotes we got. 

 Looking at some of the rooms she hasn’t painted yet, I think it won’t be long before we have her back.

Fabulous! Professional, great communication throughout entire project. Concerns were immediately addressed and satisfactorily resolved. On time to the minute. A great painting job. When it is time to do the inside I will call them out again. I absolutely recommend them.

Overall very good.  Painters were excellent.  The drywall finishers (repair) were a subcontractor and did ok work at best.

The job went great.  Kim and her team were very flexible with our tight schedule and they completed the work as planned.  The crew was polite and professional at all times.  I recommend them and will be calling them for any additional painting needs we have.

My first meeting was with Kim Sprenger, the owner of her business.  She was professional, friendly and full of know how.
I was impressed  and hired her on the spot.
 The crew she sent to do the work was Mike and Terry. They were amazingly open and genuinely cared about quality in their work.
  Extra care was taken to cover the many imperfections in the sheet rock. In a day and a half I had a New bathroom.  Their work was outstanding.  I cannot say enough good things about their personalities and work ethic.  When they left, the work area was clean too.
I would not consider hiring anyone else but this company for any future work needed.
 

From beginning to end we enjoyed a professional experience with Kim's Painting. Her company was referred to us by a friend at the gym we attend. We also read the reviews on Angie's List. We contacted Kim and she made an appointment to come over and give us an estimate. We walked through the rooms together and she gave us a bid on the spot. There was a fair amount of prep/repair work to do before painting so we felt Kim's estimate was good. We contracted with her and gave her a $550.00 deposit.

We agreed on a start date and Kim and her crew of three men arrived. Kim walked through the rooms with her crew assuring that they knew every detail of the work to be performed. They went to work quickly and diligently.

The work took three days and we had the same crew all three days. Their attention to detail was amazing. They decided to spray paint the trim work from the chair rail down in the dining room and it came out beautifully. Smooth and seamless.

When the crew left after compleing the job, we were very pleased with it. The next day, in natural light, we saw a blemish on one of the bathroom walls. I contacted Kim and yesterday the crew returned, repaired the wall and re-painted it. The work is now complete and we could not be happier with it.

We had a great relationship with Kim, her office manager, Rachel, and our crew -- Daniel and Terry. They all respected our time and our home and you could tell they took great pride in their work.

We will definitely use Kim's Professional Painting again!

After about 6 months, all of the paint peeled off and it had to be redone.  The materials they used to repair were worse than the original and they were not a good clean-up crew either.  We didn't call them to come back to fix it because we didn't want the terrible workmanship again so we had to reach out to someone else.  As of lately, we contacted Kim around February because the paint was separating from the house.  The best way I could describe it is the house looks like polka dots in the way that it is peeling.  She came out right away and brought her Sherwin Williams subcontractor and advised she would follow up within 1-2 weeks.  She told me there was a change in the environment and offered 4 gallons of paint and even delivered them but I still have to get the whole house repainted and will likely need to purchase much more paint.  My husband says it is a result of poor preparation work.  There is no other explanation other than prep work because the environment has not changed.

I was very pleased with the work overall.

Throughout the project, everyone was very professional, punctual, and did high quality work and cleaned up after the job. Couldn't be more satisfied.

Everything went well. Kim met with us before beginning each job so that we all had the same expectations. When there were minor issues, Kim made sure that they were addressed very promptly. Her lead workman spotted opportunities to make everything look even better than we anticipated (i.e., he saw that the soffits had been unpainted before, except where someone had been sloppy with a past paint job. These were painted and now look much better.)

Kim's Painting did an excellent job painting the walls and ceiling of my construction site. I had to finish the project on an accelerated timetable, and they were very flexible and did everything in their power to make sure the project was a success.
They did an excellent job, and I would recommend them to anyone needing painting assistance.

Kim's service had already painted another area of the house and we were pleased so we decided to use them again.
Unfortunately on the second go round it was obvious they were rushing. We have an old house with plaster walls and ceilings and included in the quote was some lite sanding/patching of the ceilings and walls. There were no cracks in the plaster just some rough spots we wanted smooth.
Once they finished the job there were plenty of areas on the walls that you could tell needed a second or third coat. At least in our case Kim (she doesn't actually paint - her crew does) didn't respond to complaints. We ended up hiring a guy from Charlotte Painting to finish the job at additional cost.

They were on time, had a reasonable price, excellent workers, and were very professional.

Kim's crew painted the entire inside of our house. They were so tolerant of our dog and our busy household (we have a home based business). We are redoing our kitchen and of course there were delays with cabinets and installation and they just worked around the schedule. They were totally unflappable. We had to change direction 3 or 4 times because of other sub-contractors and they never even blinked. Whatever we wanted they accommodated us. They made recommendations of things they saw that needed to be done. The crew was polite, efficient, always on time. We're not done yet so I can't comment on the price but I know it is economical and worth every penny we need to spend. They even power washed our driveway. We're getting ready to sell and they are helping us make our home easier to sell. Thank you Kim for your professionalism and great crew.
I would HIGHLY recommend Kim's professional painting for any work you need to have done. They are Awesome!
