"Wade convinced me that he could landscape my yard and we signed a contract for the north side of my yard for a little under 5K, for him to excavate a tree and weeds, lay weed barrier and mulch, and plant flowers and trees. While excavating the north side of my yard, under the contract, Wade took it upon himself to also excavate the south side of my yard - without any discussion or a contract, leaving me with a yard of sand to blow around into the neighbors’ yards unless he planted grass. This created pressure for me to pay over 5K in additional expenses for materials (3 dump trucks of topsoil), additional equipment rentals and labor, which I did. Wade never planted the trees or the flowers on the north side of the yard or the grass on the south side of the yard. While it is certainly frustrating about the trees and flowers, not planting the grass is my biggest complaint ~5K in additional unplanned expenses later the south yard looks exactly like it did prior to all the unplanned expenses and work - just a “forest” of weeds :(. Despite multiple requests, Wade has not finished this work or refunded me, and now with all the weeds regrown I’d have to start over! Always pay by credit card where at least you can dispute charges for services not rendered. Unfortunately, I paid for this project by Venmo and they do not protect consumers for disputes for services not rendered."
