Everyone at VPC is easily reached and they are quick and professional communicators! We really enjoyed working with them.

We have VPC build our home, and while they do beautiful work, they went over budget by at least Half a Million and took longer (months) than expected. Minor things still have to be repaired like a leak on the roof in one of our bedrooms. I hope they make it right as it happened over the weekend while having visitors. Angelica Wolf

We worked with VPC to build our new home over the last couple of years. We are extremely satisfied with the overall process as well as the outcome. From the very first phone call with Matt Vincent, the owner of the company, we felt very solid with our decision to sign on with VPC. His professionalism and high standards are exhibited throughout the entire staff. Everyone we worked with was respectful and dedicated, yet always approachable. Special kudos to Chris Johnson and Jake Smith, our project management team, for their personal commitment to getting the project done right. Their flexibility and creativity in working with us to develop solutions to unexpected challenges allowed for a better result. VPC does a great job of cross training everyone so that an unexpected absence or leave time does not derail the project timeline. Even while working through all the challenges of COVID (supply chain issues, exorbitant price increases, staffing shortages, etc.) we always felt that Matt was steering the ship forward towards a good outcome. We do not hesitate to recommend VPC Builders. Contact them early in your process as they are now expanding the design side of their business and we're sure that using them for both the design and build of your project would provide even more satisfaction.

We moved from Southport, North Carolina to Banner Elk to live in the mountains. We were somewhat astonished to learn that the high-end construction process was much different than that of Southport or Raleigh where we had retired. Whereas in those markets, the cost of a house build was relatively clear upfront during the home design/selection process, we found out quickly a different story in Banner Elk. Most builders we interviewed all talked in general terms but understandably stopped short to spend too much of their time and energy without some commitment. As a result, most prospective homeowners must rely on 'feelings' or 'instinct' resulting in a leap of faith decision. We interviewed several builders and Matt Vincent (VPC Builders) was hands down way above the others. His genuine personality imparted an immediate comfort and made such an impression we knew we had found our builder especially in light of this new Banner Elk building process. Much like Matt himself, his staff is so easy to work with and quite flexible always looking out for our best interest at the smallest detail. We are approximately 75% through our build and we can't say enough. We highly, highly recommend VPC.

Great experience with the VPC construction company. In our area there is a great deal of construction activity. I tried to get a company to fix my house for two years. VPC came out and provided a sound estimate, and came to the house and completed the job. I was out of town for work, so the PM kept me informed on the Builder Trend website with photos and summaries. Large company with a great deal of resources / experience they can bring to your jobsite. The only improvement I would submit is job site cleanup. We found 20 nails scattered around the driveway, and there were three bags of construction debris my wife and daughter had to haul to the town dump. We were lucky to get a spot on their job calendar and I recommend them to any business / homeowner in the High Country. I am saving funds for two more jobs for them.

Trust was the number one factor in using Matt Vincent & VPC Builders to build a vacation/retirement home for us in N.C. Living in FL during construction meant we had to have absolute faith that our builder would carry out the plans in a timely fashion, give us a good quality product & respect the budget. Tony was very responsive, quickly replying to phone messages and minor issues. The quality of the work was excellent. All the people involved obviously cared about doing a good job. The office staff were also on the ball and very helpful. The only reason I rated The value as a four rather than a five, is that the sticker price for any professional home-improvement always seems high. But I guess it is worth it to get quality work!

Great company. Two roofing jobs, both great experiences. They cleaned and hauled away leaving everything just the way they found it. No surprises, very straightforward, flexible, and bent over backward to make sure I was a satisfied customer. I was, and would hire them again.

A 119-year-old farmhouse that had been added on to here and there over the decades. Reconstructed a poorly designed addition, reroofed the entire house, and brought a few related aspects up to current code. We feel confident that our old house is protected and the character/charm preserved. The project manager was friendly, knowledgeable and provided frequent updates (and all the staff we interacted with were polite and professional).

VPC is very professional. They communicate with you throughout the project about cost and design. They completed everything as promised and have very dedicated project directors overseeing every detail. Excellent experience!!! I would use them again for any size project.

I found dealing with Wendell at VPC to be extremely easy. I liked his enthusiasm and his quick response. Thought the quality of work from his subcontractors was excellent. Everything went fairly smoothly. No major problems. All contractors cleaned up after themselves and were very courteous. Would highly recommend this firm.

Outstanding work...From the initial Estimator to the guys who actually completed the job, everyone was very professional. The work was fairly estimated, and the work was done exactly as promised. I would definitely recommend VPC to anyone needing roofing, or other home repairs, for that matter.

We selected VPC Builders to construct our mountain house in Blowing Rock, NC and couldn't be more pleased with the decision and end result. From initial design consultation to completion of the project, Matt, Gary and company provided not only a high level of professional courtesy and expertise but personal time commitment and attention to every detail through the various stages of the house construction. Quality construction, use of skilled, experienced subcontractors, proper construction site management are some of the reasons VPC comes highly recommended.

VPC builders responded promptly to our request for chimney repairs. They sent their site supervisor to our home to evaluate our needs to discuss the details of the project. Our home was only 4 years old but our original builder (not VPC builders) had installed the chimney cap improperly and created a fire hazard and could have potentionaly caused a chimney fire. VPC was very knowledgable of what needed to be done to repair the chimney cap and flue and the materials needed. A date was scheduled for the repair. We were out of town the day of the repair but VPC builders came on the scheduled date and completed the project without a problem. We had just had our deck stained and they took great care to protect the finish and not damage it during the chimney repair process. We were very pleased with the service, price, and professional workmanship of VPC builders. We would definitely use them again for future projects and recommend VPC to others. Our only regret is that we didn't contract for them to build our house originally!
