I had a contract with another company ( I may report on later) to come out and do maintenance on twice a year. In 1999 they installed the entire heat pumpand handler. I was a loyal customer until January 2013. This company was losing many of its employees that appear to want to leave. Once this Company and quot;Aand quot; had technicians coming out that left enough cigarette butts in my yard that my toddler began to pick them up causing me concern on what kind of people would leave their trash at my home. I called and the complaint was entered into the system. There are just some things that you don't do-that was one. In January 2013, I called to report that my heat pump froze up. I asked that since I was due for another maintenance, could it be consolidated- the PM and repair at the same time? It was confirmed. That week, I had to run on the Auxiliary heat (more expensive) for the unit not to ice more. Friday morning, the technician came out (I thought he was a supervisor) and had no clue of the problem-he thought it was just a PM. After an hour, he stated that there was still ice on the unit but did not feel that it was the 'board' since it was going into defrost. It may need a little refrigerant. He would have another tech come out that afternoon since it was to be a while for it to de-thaw. The second tech was courteous but I feel should have had someone help him. The 'board' on the heat pump was replaced and 2 pounds of refrigerant was put in. I was billed as a non-customer (which I should have had a cost reduction) even after I showed him my paid contract. He stated someone would call Monday. We spoke about the hundreds of dollars that may be needed to check for leaks and cost to replace the entire unit. On Monday, no one called. I was concerned about the information I was given, the time I had to be at home waiting, the lack of communication between customer service and the technicians, and between the technicians themselves. I called customer service and my bill was reduced per contract but I became suspicious...
I went to Angie's list - got the best recommendation in my area- and called Climate Control. I wanted a second opinion after I had concerns. The owner called within a short time and had one of his technicians come out. After a short time, he found many problems. The board in the handler had a blow cap that was lying against the plate when it was taken off, and several burn marks. It was not new as dust was surrounding the area. The fan that prevents moisture from building condensation was moving slow and thus bringing less heat/cool air into the house. This board (in the handler) has a number of wires requiring much soldering and more labor time. The fan had to be adjusted with the right setting. The technician was courteous and had the job done by the end of the day. It took over 4.5 hours with going over several areas, getting the board and putting it in. He went to the thermostat and found that Company and quot;Aand quot; failed to put the batteries in correctly.
My house now has heat and I don't have to run the thermostat high to get the same heat as before. Thus, my power bill is lower.
I called Company A the next day and FAXed them the bill on what their company failed to find. I was a contract customer for over 13 years and could not get good service. I was billed as a non-customer, had a board put on that I have doubts if it was even needed and no one called me back as promised. I had to constantly call to get someone to help me. Company A was going to bill me $175.00 but it was removed however, if they job was done accordingly, I would not have to pay a bill with another company as a non-customer.
I was impressed with Climate Control. The cost was reasonable, they were professional and they spent their time searching for the inconspicuous causes. Bottom line, they explained and showed me the damages first hand. What Company A never knew was I have family in the Heating/AC business but not nearby so I have some background. I highly recommend Climate Control.
They don't play games or fail to contact customers when given their word.

The previous owner of the home had used Climate Control Experts in the past. Because they knew the systems well and the previous owner recommended them highly, we decided to hire them again. Two gentlemen came and spent about an hour and a half checking over our systems, blowing out condensation lines, and making sure we were ready to go. For the amount of time they spent checking over the systems, I think the cost was quite reasonable.

They were great. I give them a high rating. They ordered the parts and then they came back and put them the next week. They were very good. If they say they are going to come out at 8:15 in the morning, they come out at 8:15 in the morning, and if not, even a few minutes earlier. They get things done very quickly and efficiently. I spent a couple of hundred dollars, as I had to order some parts that had to be replaced. I would use them again in the future.

As usual, Greg and his coworkers got it right on the first visit. In our 8-year relationship, they have been consistently prompt, professional, punctual, and reliable. Their fees are modest and fair. Not surprisingly, they are in demand year-round here in Bahama, NC. Recently (May 2011), I asked them for a quote for new heating and AC systems. Rather than a single quote, they gave me seven detailed options, ranging from a modest replacement of my dying old oil furnace with a modern gas furnace, and preservation of my functioning AC ($2,500), up to a full replacement of the furnace and AC with a new Trane 14-SEER dual-fuel package ($5,800). I trust them completely, and I look forward to their installation of my new system.

They have come out several times. It cost me a total of $162.00 for materials, $200.00 for labor, and $10.67 for something else. The total was $392.65. It was good. They do an excellent job. They come out very quickly whenever they say they are going to come out. They come out right on time. They are very good about doing exactly what needs to be done, nothing more, nothing less. They do a good job. I have used them in the past and I will use them again in the future.
