Excuses. And more excuses. In the end, I asked both him and his partner to leave the property and never come back. After giving extension after extension, and being promised that the work would be completed, I was given more excuses. The work I received was terrible. The condition of the property when they left was terrible. See the pictures of the work I received and judge for yourself.
Description of Work: I hired David Woodworth and his partner to replace the sheetrock in my upstairs loft as part of a package of overall renovations. The overall package of work for him and his partner included updating the upstairs loft by tearing out the old wallboard, install insulation, hang and finish new sheetrock in the loft, and hanging (but not finishing) fresh sheetrock in the basement, painting many of the rooms, plus plus replacing and repairing some small things like replacing cabinet knobs...etc. The work was paid for in cash, in advance, including the materials. Permit me to recommend never doing this for anyone. I learned the hard way. Almost none of the work I contracted for was completed in its' entirety. I am posting photographs of the "finished work" I received from David and his partner, and the condition of the property as they left it (complete with sheetrock mud on the hardwood floor). Although I was charged for insulation, there was not one ounce of insulation in the attic when they left. But he *was* kind enough to seal up the sheetrock access panel (APPALLING photo of that piece of work is also attached) so that I could not immediately see that the work had not been done. There was also a 2 x 4 holding up a section of the sheetrock ceiling that he had not installed properly. When I removed the 2 x 4 the section of sheetrock almost fell down on me. They had over a year to complete the work, and even after extension after extension, the work was not finished. The painting work was unfinished, and what was "finished" was appalling. The hardware was supposed to be removed before painting, and none of it was--there was paint slop on all of the antique hardware. Hinges were painted over. Windows were not painted. And in the bedrooms, the paint didn't even go to the edge of the ceiling above the picture hanging rails, leaving the old dark paint clearly visible. The paint It cost me $3200 to have another contractor come and finish the sheetrock, install the insulation, clean up and repaint the mess that was left. Just look at the pictures. They tell the whole story. I have tons more if anyone would like to see them.
