The Co Specialist Electrician

It was ok.  He was working on another job and he brought another person with them.  He was very exhausted.  I had some other thing for him to do but he didn't have time to do them.  He wasn't very complimentary to Angie’s List.  He did what he was supposed to do.

I received a response from the specialist on 1/14/14 that he would contact me within 2 days to set up an appt to provide the service of installing a bathroom fan. The provider called within the 2 days and set up an appt for 1/22 at 4:00 pm. On 1/21 the provider called to let me know he had the flu and probably would not be able to make our appt the following day. I told him I was fine with that and an appt was rescheduled for 1/31 at 4:00 pm. During our phone calls I reiterated that this service was for a fan installation and that I had purchased the fan already. We discussed the venting service that would have to be provided and the provider said he would bring the materials needed to vent the fan in a couple of different ways. When the provider showed up on 1/31 at 5:00 (an hour late) he proceeded to tell me how tired he was and actually laid down on the rug in my living room! When he and his partner finally got to work, they spent about 45 minutes cutting the necessary hole in the bathroom ceiling and mounting the fan. However he admitted that he had forgotten to bring any materials to vent the fan. He promised to call me on the following Monday, 2/3 to make another appt to connect the fan to electricity, vent the fan and complete the project. I never received this call, and despite my call to the provider (I left a voicemail) I have never heard anything back. The bathroom was left with dust covering it and I feel that the provider behaved very unprofessionally. I do not want him to return because I do not trust him to complete the work acceptably after his behavior. I would like a full refund, and will find another provider to complete this work. I am so disappointed in this whole episode.

My neighbor explained her problem and Jerry actually walked her thru fixing the problem over the phone!  I call that unexpected and great service!  He even told her how to prevent the problem from happening again.

Jerry is enthusiastic, professional, trustworthy, and deserves an A+ because he did everything top notch and exceeded our expectations. Jerry is always responsive and on time. He really went the extra mile to ensure that our older home's electrical system could meet the modern demands. Jerry and his colleague spent 17 hours working together to get the challenging job done -- and when they finished,  they proved they are the best in the business.

He came to give us an estimate and presented a hand written estimate before leaving which made us schedule the work for a w ek later. He showed up on time work quickly and quietly and finished in a reasonable amount of time. He cleaned up after himself and left the house as clean as when he arrived.

Jerry and his helper covered an electrical receptacle in the attic, and grounded one in the garage near the sink.  He also took
a list of other problems an inspector had found with the house, and helped me find someone to fix those.  He was very clear,
explained everything very clearly, even to my 13 year old grandson, and was a pleasure to have around.  His energy is amazing!

I called Jerry Goldby because my kitchen/dining lighting and dining room wall outlets did not work.  I contacted Jerry based on a personal referral.  His response to my call was timely.  Although he would be unavailable for several days and offered a referral, I made an appointment with Jerry (for 10 days following the call) because I wanted an electrician with a referral I trusted.  We agreed on a price and briefly discussed another possible job for his visit.  Jerry called the day before my appointment to confirm and showed up promptly for the appointment.
During the visit, Jerry was knowledgeable, willing to explain technical situations and enthusiastically resolved my problem.   As he replaced the faulty circuit breaker, he showed me other problems found in the circuit box which he fixed.  During our discussion of the "second" job, Jerry explained issues I had not known and presented possible resolutions  .He did not perform any further service on the ?second? job since I needed time to consider the options before making a final decision.
For all of his time and supplies, Jerry charged me less than our agreed upon fee.  He was professional and prompt, and I will
call him for all my electrical issues.

Jerry completed the work in a timely and entertaining manner, explaining things as he went along.  He was very open to letting me watch him work, since electrical stuff generally mystifies me. He first moved the dining room light in the ceiling about 15 inches over, so that it's now centered over my table. He was careful to cut a small enough hole in the ceiling so that there was no gap showing outside the fixture plate, as there had been with the old light location, which had always driven me crazy.  He put a round metal plate over the old receptacle, and eventually, I'll get the hole drywalled and painted over, but for now, the ceiling looks good.  He next installed a dimmer switch that I originally was going to try on my own, but since the switch I wanted to put it on was a 3-pole one, I was nervous about doing it myself, and fortunately, with Jerry doing it, it works perfectly and the other switch that operates the light still operates, too. (If I had done it myself, who knows??) He then installed two outdoor outlets, one on my front porch, and one on the screened porch, and was able to go through the wall in both cases, connecting to indoor outlets on the opposite side.

Jerry is knowledgeable, has a good work ethic and good sense of humor and really did a nice, clean job in my house.  Without hesitation, I would use him again.

Jerry arrived on time, listened to what we needed, and he proposed an innovative solution.  Jerry was professional, and had a great sense of humor.

Jerry and Russel worked efficiently and well together.  They consulted me on the details for the placement of the vanity light outlet and the height for the light switch and GFI plug.  Jerry figured out why I had lost power to a baseboard outlet and overhead light...and showed me where the problem was...I had capped off and disconnected an unneeded old baseboard outlet in a hallway.  He also pointed out that my love for 100 watt bulbs was sucking tremendous power and the culprit for the frequent tripped breakers.  He educated me on 100 watt bulbs and turned me on to the equivalent light output for CFL's (23 watt, 1600 lumens, daylight, or bright neutral white).  I have now switched out all my 100watt bulbs for CFL's and thank Jerry for educating me ...I truly was clueless.  Jerry and Russel completed all the work in 5 hours and cleaned up after themselves in every area they worked in.  They made sure they addressed everything I requested and that I was satisfied.  I got quality service at a fair price and would not consider hiring anyone else to do future electrical work on my home...The C.O. Specialist have my business.  If you believe in a strong work ethic, professional-knowledgeable service and fair charges...you will be pleased with your encounter with this company.

Working with Jerry was really easy.  He answered the phone every time I called, seemed like on the first ring.  I got bids from several other electricians and many of them did not call me back for days.  I did some research before choosing the CO Specialist Electrician and believe the price was excellent.

Expert workmanship. Neat and tidy. Great personality. This was the first work he had performed for us and we will definitely use him again.

THEY ARRIVED WITH A SMILE, DID THE WORK, RAN INTO SOME EXTRA PROBLEMS AND SOLVED THEM  WE LAUGHED AND JOKED AND THEY WERE GONE. MY CONCERN IS THEY ARE ACTUALLY GENERAL CONTRACTORS AND DO SO MUCH MORE.  I'LL CALL THEM AGAIN IN AN INSTANT.

We called and left a message and Jerry came out the very next day to give us an estimate. He walked us through the permit process and came back later that day to install the outlet and ground the natural gas line. He also followed up to ensure that his work was inspected and approved by the city building safety department. We were very impressed with Jerry's prompt response and the quality of his work. We will be calling him again when we have electrical work to be done.

I called Jerry Golby to get an estimate for the work above. He came out on time and we discussed what needed to be done and the cost. We set up a day and time for him to start the work and he came out on time with his assistant Buddy and completed most of the work. They could not finish putting in the baseboard heaters until I had the walls and floors completed. I gave him a partial payment for the work he had completed up to that point. It took 3 months to get the walls and floor finished. When I called Jerry he was eager to finish the work. We made an appointment, he and Buddy came out on time and finished the job to my satisfaction. Jerry is very personable and eager to do a good job. He is also extremely knowledgeable in his field. I highly recommend him for any electrical work that needs to be done.

The receptacle failed and I lost lights in the family room area of my home. I contacted Jerry Goldby, and within four hours of my call he answered, he came to my home and repaired the receptacle. He noticed the junction box was broken and replaceds it as well. I was amazed at how quickly he responded. He came with an assistant. Jerry was friendly, most efficient, and made sure the area was cleaned up when he finished. In addition he discounted the cost to us from $125 to $95.

Within thirty minutes, Jerry Goldby called and we explained the problem. He said he was out on a call and could be at our home in about an hour. In almost exactly an hour he was here. We explained the problem in more detail and within 10 minutes he had the problem fixed. It was a tripped GFCI circuit. Jerry charged only for the service call with no charge for repair. Execellent service for a Sunday afternoon.

Jerry responded promptly to my initial phone call requesting an estimate for work. He provided a free written estimate immediately. Once I was ready for the work to be done he was very accommodating with my schedule, he is happy to do work on the weekends or at night if needed. The job was completed in a very timely manner and within budget. Jerry troubleshot and fixed a problem that was not on our initial estimate and made sure to provide the extra in writing before performing the work. He cleaned up after himself on a regular basis and I couldn't be happier with the job Jerry has done. I have referred him to several friends who have had similar experiences as I did.
