Very few things impress me these days, but Asheville Computer Company has just made the list. I'm a small business owner who just celebrated our 20th anniversary selling motorcycle parts over the internet. Our 12 year old HP computer (still running Windows Vista) has been mostly a dependable workhorse. That being said, even this closet Luddite knew it's days were numbered. Part of my reluctance to upgrade centered around the fact that many of my essential programs are not compatible with Windows 10, meaning the move would be a both painful and expensive. The question on my mind for the last few years has always been.. "How long can I put off an upgrade?" Recently, my computer started shutting down at random times of the day.. Every day..The proverbial writing on the wall. I called my usual computer guy to coordinate an upgrade strategy before it had a total meltdown and was sucker punched with the news that he'd recently left Asheville and moved out to the coast.. He referred me to Asheville Computer Services. Great.. I have to put my faith.. my life.. and my business in the hands of strangers. I checked them out and they had great street creds so I called Aaron (the owner) and spoke in depth with him about what I needed done.. He hit me with an idea that I didn't even know was possible.. Rather than trying to adapt my ancient programs to function in Win10.. he suggested a "virtual" computer.. That's a software program that basically makes a copy of my current computer.. My Vista operating system, all my old programs, files, pics, folders, etc and drops them inside the Windows 10 operating system. Basically.. he said I could open Win 10, click on a single icon, and a mirror image of my Vista system would pop up..Even the same screensaver.. Everything would look the same and work the same... Bam.. This sounded like the dream upgrade.. He quoted a 4 day turnaround for the procedure at reasonable price so I set up the appointment for a few days later. In the meantime I went out and bought a new computer. I know very little about modern computers so Aaron provided some invaluable advice and I took it.. While I could have opted for an adequate machine.. I opted for one of the best on the market.. An HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Tower PC..with a blazingly fast Intel Core i7 processor..SSD (solid state) hard drive, and enough memory to house the entire Vatican archives.. It's what Jesus would buy. I bought the machine direct from HP and it was in my hands in 2 days. The day I was to drop off the computer, my worst fears were realized.. It refused to turn on. Then when it did fire up, I got the dreaded blue screen of death. After 1/2 a dozen cold starts I got it running enough to finish my morning work before shutting it down for the drop off at Asheville Computer Co.. It was as if God said.. " you think I'm gonna make this transition easy on you, yee procrastinator?...Watch this!".. My anxiety level increased exponentially.. I sheepishly dropped the unit off with them, explained what had happened, and hoped for the best. The look on their faces once I mentioned "blue screen" was not comforting. In my mind I could already hear Mozart's Requiem playing in the background for my old HP.. What was supposed to take 4 days turned into 5...then 6.. then 7.. I was told the crash had caused a cascade of problems. They'd solve one then another would crop up.. then another. and another.. I don't think I had a good nights sleep that entire week, then on the 8th day Paul called me and said the work was done.. They'd solved every problem and all was working perfectly.. I drove down and sat with Paul (one of their tech guys) for about 30 minutes while he walked me through the new rig.. Working with Windows 10... Switching between my virtual VISTA machine and Win 10.. He answered every question I could throw at him effortlessly.. As promised.. everything worked like a charm and the icing on the cake.. my VISTA operating system was much faster. Amazing. When I was ready to leave I pulled out my credit card expecting financial armageddon due to all the extra time and brain drain they had invested in delivering a fully operational machine and was shocked to find that the bill was the original quote.. Not a penny more. If I hadn't just blown my entire budget on the new computer I'd have given them more.. They certainly deserved it.. Instead, I'll just give them this positive endorsement..From now on..Asheville Computer Company will be my go-to guys.. It's been a long time since I was this impressed and I'll not soon forget.

They removed malware and repaired our computer. They replaced the hard drive and it works like new. It was repaired within 2 days. Would definitely use again. They also added better antivirus protection.

The hard drive on my wife's iMac failed. Aaron replaced it with an updated solid state drive. He was also able to recover the data on the failed hard drive and transfer it over to the new one. He did all of this at an affordable price ... which is why we keep going back to Aaron again and again whenever we have problems with our computer equipment. Aaron is simply the best there is.

Asheville Computer Co treated me like a valued customer and not simply a business asset. Aaron and staff were able to recover virtually all of my data files off of the internal hard drive that started failing and put them on a new PC. They were also very informative when I had additional questions/concerns days after I originally picked up my desktop. If you want personal service at a great price, this is the place.

Aaron is a great person to deal with. I had several issues with my computer over the last couple of years and went to Aaron for each problem. He diagnosed and corrected the problems quickly and reasonably. I also have called him on a few issues/questions regarding things I didn't understand and he helped me while showing a lot of patience (which I appreciate). I would not consider taking my PC anywhere else.

WONDERFUL! Very happy with him! Fast, efficient, knows his stuff. My wife and I are so relieved to get our problems solved. He explained things we can do in the future.

What can I add to all the wonderful reviews already written about Aaron, on his site, Google and Angie's, which is why I decided to try him out first hand. Just losing my job, I needed his fair price, efficient turnaround, etc. I agree with all the post about him, and would add only-he will welcome you with a great big smile! I will continue to go to him in the future as well!!

Although Aaron expended several hours of labor in diagnosing the problem, I was only charged for the actual labor and parts for the final solution. A new computer was determined to be the more cost effective solution. Since I needed an operating computer to meet a deadline, Aaron was very cooperative in expediting the work, including working past his normal business hours.

Excellent, quick and responsive service. Couldn't have had a better experience with Aaron and Asheville Computer Company. Aaron even agreed to meet me to receive my machine outside of normal hours. Had one issue arise after pick up and he quickly remote connected in to resolve the issue without any additional charge. Summary, super responsive, great results and my Dell Alien is back to normal.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I bought a new desktop and Aaron did everything needed to set it up and transfer files. He even found some music files I thought were gone forever and made them accessible again. He is now my go-to guy for any technical issues I run into in the future. Highly recommended!

Work was done in less than an hour on 2 computers.  Both jobs were done expertly and smoothly.

The corruption via Mac firefox browser was minimal and easily restored since it was on a Mac and not on a PC.  Aaron just went thru the browser Support Troubleshooting tab and refreshed Firefox which allowed us to omit the add-on software.

He also showed me how to do it myself should it ever happen again.

Aaron also setup a wireless connection from my Mac to my printer since I needed to free up a USB port since my macbook only has two of them. 

Aaron was great to work with, I sent an email describing what I wanted done and explaining that I didn't want to carry my existing laptop into his shop (it was being held together with duct tape).  He wrote back offering up two different time slots which he had available to come to my home and perform the work. He did everything I requested, plus some. I was very comfortable with him and would definitely call him again with any computer related needs.

Excellently.  Aaron worked with dogged diligence 'til everything was as it should be.  I've employed various technicians over the years, but Aaron actually cares about performing the work to the customer's satisfaction and does so not only with competence but also with patience and good cheer.  I would not hesitate recommending Asheville Computer across the board.
