A few days later, a representative called, acknowledged the receipt of my cancellation and arranged a date to have a technician retrieve the monitoring stations. That technician never showed up and is now a week overdue.
Terminix is on autopilot. They arrive when they feel like it without notice, they prowl your property doing what they do even if it means jumping fences, they want $238 for sticking monitoring stations in the ground then forgetting them. Termites could damage my home and Terminix wouldn't know about it for several months. Then what? Oops. Sorry, sir. You have termites. We'll treat them for $$$.
Update (4/14/2016): I was contacted two weeks ago by Terminix's Regional Manager who gave apologies for my recent poor experience. He listened to what I had to say and offered to handle my situation immediately with a couple courtesy services for my trouble if I would give Terminix a chance to make it right. I accepted.
A few days later, a technician come out and provided a termite inspection. He was very cordial, knowledgable and answered all my questions. Another technician was to call me the next day to set up installation of new in-ground termite monitors. That call didn't happen.
One week later I still had not been contacted. I called the Regional Manager, voiced my displeasure with my local Terminix provider and canceled our verbal agreement.
