I called Steve early Monday morning. He had jury duty that day and said he would return my call later that evening. He returned my call as promised and we set up an appointment for first thing in the morning on Tuesday. He arrived promptly and began to examine the outlets in the kitchen. I explained that the dishwasher would run for about 20 minutes and then trip the circuit breaker, but that using an extension cord, the dishwasher worked successfully on another circuit. He pointed out that my extension cord did not have a ground wire so there was no way the dishwasher could have tripped the breaker even if it had a problem. In other words, the problem could still be in the dishwasher. Steve next examined the electrical panel. He removed the dishwasher's circuit breaker and discovered that it was the wrong brand of breaker for that panel. He also pointed out evidence of overheating where the breaker connected to the panel. He now felt certain it was the breaker and not the dishwasher. He drove to the store, purchased a new breaker, and installed it in the panel. Our problem was solved. Steve was kind and friendly, he let me accompany him while he worked and he answered my questions regarding surge protection. I will certainly use him again and highly recommend him to others.

I called Steven's phone and left a message about a needed electrical repair in an apartment we own. He got back to me in 15 minutes. We were able to meet 2 hours later that same day. Since I had to meet him at the apartment to let him in, we met there. He was there waiting when I arrived at the appointed time. He diagnosed the problem with the tenants ceiling fan within a few minutes. There was a chip in the light switch that had gone bad, he said it might be possible to research the ceiling fan manufactor and order the bad chip but it wasn't something available locally. Since the tenant was without light in her living room he suggesting replacing the ceiling fan out right. It would get the light working quicker than researching and then waiting for a part to be shipped. And I could get a new ceiling fan with a light for less than $50. I went to the nearested home center and picked out the new ceiling fan. I was back in 15 minutes. And about 30 minutes after that, the ceiling fan was in and working. So I was able to solve the renters problem while she was at work, the same day she told me about it. I had used Steve Baldwin for other electrical work around my house before, and was always impressed with his quick response, quality work, and resonable price. It seems hard sometimes to find people that do reliable work at a resonable cost, but I can recommend Steven D. Baldwin Electrical Contractor without reservations.
