REEDS JEWELERS INC

I had received a watch for Christmas from a friend who bought the item online. I then took the watch to the watch kiosk at the mall to have the band shortened. I forget exactly how much I paid, but it was about $10. The woman who worked on the band took all of the links from the same side. After being annoyed for several months that the watch dial did not sit in the middle of my wrist, necessitating me to turn my arm an uncomfortable distance to see what time it was, I went back to the mall kiosk. There was a man working there.  I explained to him what the problem was. He took the watch and held it in such a way that the dial was level, but that one end of the clasp was higher than the other, trying to convince me that the links were the same length on both sides. I told him that regardless of how he held the watch, it did not sit on my wrist correctly, and I would like him to move a few of the links from one side to the other. He then said that it would be difficult to do that and hemmed and hawed some about it. I then took the watch and went a few feet down the hallway to Reed's. At this point, I had decided that it was really annoying me not to have the watch sit correctly on my wrist and I would like it fixed whatever the cost. The saleswoman at Reed's immediately saw what what the problem was, and asked one of her co-workers to look at it. He took the watch and with great patience adjusted the band. When I asked how much I owed him, he said "nothing." This is an illustration of the service available at a quality jewelry store, opposed to a cheapo outfit set up in the hallway. The next time I have occasion to purchase any jewelry, Reed's will most assuredly get my business.
