The work was highly mediocre and left unfinished. There was also construction and drywall debris left on the windows and walls of the worksite. The freshly painted outdoor deck and deck furniture was also stained with construction debris as carpenter Ray used the deck to go back and forth through the upstairs window to enter the house and carry construction materials. The staining was not cleaned up. Carpenter, Ray, claimed the work was completed, and noted that he made the decision not to caulk or finish painting as he thought it looked good enough. Ray did not ask or confirm my satisfaction or preference for completion of the painting. The painting was therefore not complete. Ray left the work site at 4:30 pm without checking in with me, the client. The next morning, barely 12 hours after leaving my home, Ray began harrassing me starting at 5:00 am - sending request for payment with illegible pictures of handwritten hours logged on a paper calendar and blurry pictures of 3 receipts for materials- also illegible. Ray claimed the work was complete and sent 5 texts and 3 phone calls between the hours of 5:00 am and 7:45 am- demanding payment and saying that he was nervous he wouldn't get paid. When I responded at 8:00 am, Ray claimed he would return that evening to finish painting and again demanded payment. I agreed to send payment and we agreed to meet that evening to complete the painting. Ray didn't show up that evening, then called to say he didn't want to finish, and raised his voice stating that he had been afraid he wouldnt get paid since several other clients had not paid him in the past. Although I had already paid Ray in full - again barely 12 hours after he left the unfinished job, he stated he would not return to finish. Not only did he not complete the job as agreed, but he also renigged on his promise to come back to complete it once he received payment. This man does decent carpentry work, mediocre remodel/repair work yet is unprofessional, arrogant, and chauvanistic with regard to dealing with women. I would never again use nor recommend Ray Tuers.
