Pet Vet on Patton

My small breed dog was showing blood in her stool and diarrhea. The Vet there said 'some dogs just have this and not to worry much about it". I think if it was blood in the Vet's stool, she would not have been so casual about it. Took my little dog to Animal Hospital of North Asheville. They are extremely professional and Dr. Kasandra Garner's treatment for my dog's colitis was spot on. My dogger still has a little colitis, but it has mostly cleared up with proper diet.

Worst experience of my little dog's life. The girl who did the trimming was young and sweet but took us into a 'quiet' room with no table to put my dog on. I had to hold her in my arms while the girl trimmed her nails. Ended up cutting one nail too close and causing it to bleed a great deal. My dog was struggling and biting me to get away. I'll never go back there.

The are well cared for and come home happy and with a daily report on the details of their stay.

We have used the veterinary services of Pet Vet and are quite pleased. This review is more about the day care services.  We were given a free week trial and were quite pleased with the experience! We don't actually need "day care" services often, but like this safe option to socialize our puppy. The dogs all seem happy and playful.  We know she doesn't sleep the whole time because she is exhausted when we pick her up and sleeps all the way home! The only thing I might change is the whole day rate.  I wish there were a half day rate as well.

they take care of my cats. They're wonderful. The office staff is wonderful. The clinical staff is wonderful. The doctors, Dr. Lea is my favorite, she's a gem and really she's been through the depth with my animals and the sickness and whatnot. She's great. I can't say enough about them.

Polite and informative

They are very good. They are timely and very compassionate. Our lab had a fall where he was paralyzed. They made home visits to check on him, which was incredible. They offered me great comfort. They did a great job. They are a little pricey, but the doctors are very knowledgeable and take their time.

The experience was good. When I called to schedule the boarding, they took my previous vet's name and called them to check whether the dogs were up to date on all their shots. There were a couple that needed renewed so they scheduled those for the weekend when the dogs were there.
The boarding was easy and they provided documentation showing feedings and outside time for each of the dogs. They suggested we bring our own dog beds and food if we wanted, which they clearly marked with masking tape and the dogs' names.
Obviously our dogs can't tell us their review, but they were just as happy as when we dropped them off.
Overall good experience, recommended.

I went to Germany for vacation and a friend kept our Boxer some of the
time. I made arrangements with Pet Vet and paid them for my friend to
take Raina for the remainder of our trip. It was a smooth transition
and Raina had excellent care. This is the 2nd time I have used them.
You receive a percentage off if a longer stay, I was pleased to learn
that. They have pick up on the weekends with is great too.

We have great regard for Dr. Mary Lynn Palusell, who was highly recommended by a local dog breeder. She is knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, and open to our questions regarding the treatment of this cat as well as our other two. She also was fairly quick to apologize for clipping the claws of this senior cat while he was sedated for a dental cleaning when she learned that the staff did not inform us or obtain our approval for the clipping. Our cats, though mostly indoor, do go outside and need their claws in the event they encounter another animal. Although most of the staff are quite competent and friendly, interactions with a few have left us underwhelmed. For example, one staff questioned whether we had gotten one of our 5-year-olds as a kitten, asserting that the cat had attributes of a 15-year-old. In another case we were assured that cats do not chew their food, so the loss of teeth in our oldest cat would not be a problem. As it turns out, all of our cats chew their food. We always ask for Dr. Paluseli which helps ensure that we and our cats will have a good experience.

The experience was great. The vet tech was very friendly and knowledgeable and expressed a lot of compassion and care for our dogs health and our situation. She gave us lots of good info. The vet gave our dog a check over and then we talked about the options for her care. She was careful not to push one option over another, and was understanding of our financial constraints. She patiently discussed all the options with us and recommended that we go home and think about what will really work for our family. Our dog is generally terrified at vet visits, but seemed fairly comfortable with the folks at the Pet Vet on Patton.

While my dog looked ok when I picked him up, he ran to me and did not leave my side for at least 2 days, something he has never done at any other time. He even wanted to sit in my lap driving home, something he did not do before and has not done since. I have no idea what they did to him, but I know from his behavior that whatever it was, it terrified him. I have found a wonderful groomer now and when my dog sees where we are, he is excited to go in. I will never know what happened at Pet Vet but I do know I will never take any pet there ever again!
