It was a wonderful experience. My dogs were looking good and happy when we got home. My house looked spotless. Miss Jane's is not cheap, but is well worth the money, knowing that my dogs are well taken care of.

We have a sweet, older, occasionally slow moving dog and having Miss Jane give her a break during our longer days away has been wonderful for all of us. Miss Jane is completely reliable, always leaves a detailed note about the care our dog received and gives her a full 30 minutes of time, if not more. She is very responsive, on time, very aware of how our pooch is feeling that day and treats her accordingly. Our dog adores Miss Jane--as we were home very early one day and she (Miss Jane) was just leaving. Our sweet old girl was practically dancing with delight. (And she doesn't do that for just anybody) When we tell her "Miss Jane is coming"--her ears perk up and I'm pretty sure there's a smile under all that fuzz. Dogs are wise and intuitive and ours trusts Miss Jane completely--as do we.
Miss Jane is well versed in the language of dog. Knowing she's giving our sweet girl a walk and some TLC brings tremendous peace of mind when we're away.
She's been able to hire some assistants and our experience with them has also been excellent. She's as particular about the people she hires as she is the good care she gives to the animals in her charge.
I'm quite certain our pooch would rate Miss Jane at least 4 Paws up!

We have used Miss Jane's on various occasions and at various levels of service needs. Yes, it is an expensive route versus a kennel, but we have a much happier and less stressed animal when we return. We are 100% satisfied and will NOT look for an alternative.

My dog was not stressed when I got home. I can tell. She sends detailed information via text and or email and is dependable and reliable.
I like the fact that she knows the "signs" to look for in many situations.
Jane is one of the best pet sitter I have had here in Asheville. I have used three others and she is by far the best. We are specific and have had GREAT pet sitter where we used to like , so the bar was set really high.

Despite some personality quirks of our pooches the entire weekend was a success.
Jane Mitchell, owner, is professional, conscientious, and loving, when caring for our 4-legged family members.
We are new to the area and used to having a pet sitter take care of our family while we are traveling. Letting them stay in their home is less traumatic and safer. Jane Mitchell stay overnight a few nights because she knew the pets were scared and confused because we are new to the Asheville area and the dogs were recently uprooted from their long time Florida home and are still a bit uncomfortable when we leave them alone in the house.
When I first met with Jane to introduce her to the pets and discuss their personalities and individual needs (one dog has seizures and is on a strict regimen of anti-seizure medication) I could immediately tell she would be right for the job.
Although the first couple days were a bit bumpy as a result of the personality quirks of the pets Jane handle each situation with aplomb and humor.
While we were away, it was great to get texted updates on the pets and answer questions that might arise.
By the end of the stay, the dogs were used to Jane and when she came back a few days later I could tell they loved her.
I will certainly use Jane again when we travel because I know my family is in caring hands.

Jane is a real animal lover. She really understands how the cats are like our family. She sent numerous texts and emails keeping us apprised of all goings on and she described our cat behaviors perfectly. She spoils them (like having a grandmother come and see the grand "kids") so that when we come home, they are not stressed at all. She gave them extra treats (rotisserie chicken anyone?) and loved on them. Also, she managed to come to the house even with the horrible weather over the holidays. What a trooper.
She is obviously very professional and asks all the right questions about caring for the animals. We trusted her completely being in our house and she took very good care and cleaned up even more than was necessary.
If you need someone to watch your pets while you are away, Miss Jane is your lady.

Miss Jane is the ultimate in a pet sitter. She's efficient, loving and a great communicator. She put my mind at ease while we were away with daily emails (some with pics) with specific details about our little Charlie. I could tell our boy had been well cared for by how calm he was when we returned. Bravo! We will definitely call upon Miss Jane again!

Awesome! She followed through on everything as advertised, plus more (a few extra treats for the cats, a couple extra cat videos for the owners). The cats were as happy and mellow as they've ever been following one of our vacations and it's all thanks to Jane. :-)

Jane is very knowledgeable and professional. She has changed our dog's life, giving him and new routine and much needed exercise. She has also inspired more dog walks from family members.

Each day we received detailed updates by text, including some photos and videos which we were able to share with our friends at the campsite. Everyone we were camping with were really impressed at the level of detail and professionalism that Miss Jane provided and they were equally as happy to see the photos and videos as we were. When we returned to Asheville we found Piglet very chatty but otherwise a little less angry at having been left behind while we were away. Thanks to Miss Jane Piglet got lots of love, treats, and playtime. No question that we will use Miss Jane's Pet Sitting service again.

It went perfectly, Miss Jane is a jewel among pet sitters. She genuinely cares for animals. Her concern is obvious as she informed me that we should look into a different type of food as one of my cats is very over weight.. She also let us know how important wellness check-ups are. We appreciated her knowledge and have great faith in her abilities. She followed our instructions perfectly. She also e-mailed us on a continuous basis letting us know how things were going. I HIGHLY recommend her services and give her an A+

It was an absolutely wonderful experience. In the past we've left our dogs in kennels and it was always a traumatic experience for them and for us. Our male dog was rescued from a pound and when we left him in a kennel (even one where they could play outside) he would get extremely stressed and rip up his dog bed. So we wouldn't travel unless we could take the dogs with us. But we had to fly out of state in March so we were relieved to find Miss Jane's Pet sitting service. She was excellent! When we returned home from our trip the dogs were happy to see us and they didn't appear stressed in any way. They were happy dogs and we were thrilled that things worked out so well. It's obvious that they both got a lot of attention and love while we were away. Both Jane and Lydia came to meet the dogs about a week prior to our trip. It was obvious from this encounter that they understood and loved dogs - and the dogs responded well to them in return. We can't recommend Miss Jane's Pet Sitting highly enough!! They've given us the freedom to travel without having to worry about the dogs. Our dogs and our home received excellent care while we were gone and we're so grateful!

Jane was extremely helpful and professional! She was patient with our neurotic new-pet concerns and is very compassionate, playful, and energetic. Our puppy is quite big and Jane managed him with no problem, even suggesting a harness and links to information about different kinds of equipment to insure that her walks with him would be manageable. She even implemented words and routines from the puppy's training to help maintain and reinforce a process that we are in the middle of!
We will definitely use Miss Jane's services again! Thanks to Jane, we were able to relax and enjoy our time away from the pets confident that they were receiving the very best of care.! THANKS JANE!

Jane made a visit to the house prior to our vacation to get aquainted with our pets and learn their routines. I was very impressed with how thorough and professional she was. While we were away, she provided us with a daily e-mail to let us know how the pups were doing and it was obvious they were enjoying each other's company. It was so reassuring. Several times she inquired about whether she could help with additional tasks such as watering plants, bringing in mail and taking out recycling. Her service exceeded my expectations and I recommend her to anyone seeking a very caring and professional person to care for their pets and home.

Smoothly, no worries. Jane came by the first time to get to know my pet, get the layout of the house, agree on exactly what was to be done, sign a contract and get a key to my house. I gave her my contact information and touched base with her right before I left. I have tremendous peace of mind knowing she is the one in my house and caring for my kitty.

Miss Jane was absolutely terrific. We moved into the area in January and had previously left our dog with our families while traveling. However, they are no longer within driving distance, and given our dog's health issues and anxiety around other dogs, a kennel was out. We started looking for pet sitters. We were immediately impressed with Miss Jane's professionalism. She takes every precaution, even those that had not occurred to us, and we are meticulous pet parents. She came to meet both us and Magnolia beforehand which we appreciated. We also had her do a couple of presitting walks so Magnolia would know Miss Jane was here for fun stuff. Given our daily email updates, it was clear that the two bonded quickly, and by the middle of the week, Miss Jane knew Magnolia so well that her descriptions were almost as good as ours. We were at ease for the entire trip, and Magnolia who often has lost hair and weight and is completely exhausted after returning home from a kennel looked fantastic. She greeted us as if we were returning from the store rather than a week away. Hooray for Miss Jane!!!

Miss Jane was a caring, responsible and thoughtful pet sitter for our two dogs and two cats when we were away on vacation this past September. We had traveled out of the country to a Caribbean island with spotty phone and internet service and were still able to get Miss Jane's comprehensive updates almost every day. Turns out that she would text us if we couldn't communicate, and that was great! We were able to enjoy our vacation with no worries at all concerning the care of our furry family. She was very attentive towards our pets and they seemed happy and well adjusted when we returned after a week. I would recommend her to anyone needing a qualified and loving pet sitter for their pets--she is great!
