They have always been professional, explained and showed me the required work before starting and fully guaranteed all their work. They are now my exclusive repair service and I can recommend them without hesitation.

I have never been disappointed in the workmanship, service or quality on every occasion I have had my cars serviced or repaired at Jack Smith's. Kerry and Tom are very knowledgeable and always take to time to explain and SHOW me why work is required. My only regret is the few times I took a car to a dealer and didn't check with them before authorizing work. Full recommendation of these guys without hesitation.

First, he had us come in the day we called.  It took about a week to do all the work but we feel it was definitely worth it.  He called and explained what was wrong and an approximate price before doing the work.  He noticed the oil had not been changed for a long time and did that on his own, and we appreciated that.  He checked the tires and the alignment was out of wack and suggested new tires and a full four-wheel alignment.  Even though the tread was good on the tires, the rear tires were cupped and making lots of road noise.   The car was clean with paper liners on the floor.  A new grand baby rides in this car and we want it as safe as possible.

I had been to Jack Smith's Transmission and Automotive Service in the past when it was called Advantage Automotive. I took my car into the dealer to have a recall problem fixed, and they found a problem with the serpentine belt and tensioner assembly. I don't generally trust dealers, so I took it over to Kerry at Advantage Automotive. He diagnosed the same problem and gave me a better deal on the work. So when I couldn't start my car recently, I had it towed directly to what is now Jack Smith's Transmissions and Automotive Service. Kerry is still there doing great work. He diagnosed the problem and got the car back to me quickly and at a reasonable rate. I would highly recommend this company for their prompt, professional, and friendly service!

I thought that I needed a full brake job - brake pads and rotors. I went for a test drive with Kerry (company owner) and he explained all the repair possibilities but said he would do only what was needed. I left my car with him and he called a short time later to say that the pads on all of the brakes still had a lot of wear left on them. He said machining all the rotors would fix my breaking problems, but he said that if I wanted, he would machine just the front and then road test it to see if the rear rotors needed to be machined too. I asked him to do that and he called back to say that the breaking issue had been resolved and that the back rotors didn't need to be machined. Never in my life have I had such an honest repair person, of any kind. I am moving 45 miles from Asheville but I will be bringing my vehicles back to Kerry.

Kerry has done all the work on our cars for over 10 years. I wouldn't go anywhere else. He is truly an honest mechanic. He has even given me help over the phone when I have been out-of-town. Plus he has a great sense of humor.

I had a good experience with them. They are knowledgeable and fair. Their turnaround time is very quick. We really like them. I rate them A overall. I will definitely use them in the future.

Kerry and his wife run a friendly, professional shop and are loyal to their customers. Kerry offered us same-day service but we chose to drop it off next-day. He started the work on our car before we were out of the parking lot. The work was completed immediately and he called right away to let us know it was complete. Price was very reasonable, no surprises!

They took about three and half hours to do the work. The car ran great afterwords. It was making a squealing noise before they replaced the belt and that stopped immediately afterwords. I did call around for pricing for this service and they were the cheapest I could find.
