We brought in my daughter's iPhone 4s to have the front screen repaired. It had one large crack across the screen. The phone was totally operational when we dropped it off. Although the screen was fixed beautifully, when the phone was returned to her the speaker was no longer functioning...she could hear nothing. What disturbed us the most was the fact that not only did the technician know about this problem when the screen repair was complete (he admitted this to us when we returned to the shop) , he returned the phone and accepted full payment without telling us that the speaker was an issue or having us try the phone before leaving. Once we returned, he told us he "couldn't hear anything when he used it but thought it might be just him"...nope! He asked us to "wait 20 minutes" and he would get it fixed. That 20 minutes turned into an hour while several people attempted to figure out the problem. At the end of that hour, the phone was returned without the speaker fixed, $10 for our "patience" and a recommendation that we return the phone to Apple and get a replacement since it was less than one year old...."just don't mention the screen repair". Later in the evening we discovered that all of her photos had"disappeared" from the phone. We retrieved them after purchasing some additional software for $25. All in all we spent $90 to fix a screen on a phone that will be replaced by our cellular service provider for the speaker problem that was created during screen repair and $25 to retrieve data that went missing during the process as well. I understand that we agreed to allow the tech to access the phone but the photo library should have been untouched in this service. In the way of customer service, only one person on the team stepped up to try to resolve the problem and look for solutions. All others seemed uninterested and the one tech tried to hide the problem entirely by not telling us in the beginning.
