Initially contacted in December, we asked for an estimate of glass replacement in our 20 year old sunroom. We were told the estimate would take a number of hours of research and inspection, so Mr. Wrenn wanted $35/hour for this effort. A bit unusual, but we were willing to do in the assurance that this would only be a couple hundred dollars.
It was February before Mr. Wrenn made any progress. This was the beginning of a very slow process, with many long periods of inactivity and no contact from him, despite promises to contact us regularly. The final cost of the "estimate" was over $1700. Each time he saw us, he would demand immediate payment and provide no receipt or documentation. Eventually, we insisted on getting a statement, and he resisted this, but complied grudgingly.
OK, a bit odd for someone who claimed to be a professional. Finally, when a rough non-binding estimate was offered, we were presented with a final bill and a demand to pay within two days. When I met with him in a cafe in Asheville, I explained I needed another couple days to get the check (since I am only acting to help my aging mother for this project). At this Mr. Wrenn exploded in anger, yelling petty insults at me and my mother in the public cafe. Embarrassing and childish behavior. He afterwards sent a petulant email, whining that we should have shown him more gratitude, not insisted on written invoices, and always paid him immediately upon his verbal requests.
In sum, Mr. Wrenn, while apparently a competent window contractor, is very unprofessional in his practices, temperamental, and most likely not a stable individual to depend on for serious work.

Excellent. This guy does wonderful work. You can depend on him. He is picky about how things should be done. Takes pride in his work. Uses quality products. I feel lucky to have found him. I know if he is going to do something it will be done right and I have total trust in him. Hard to find that nowadays. He is not cheap, but he is not real expensive. I believe you get what you pay for. I know for the money the job will be done correctly.
