I believe this is a all out scam. Do Not ever go to Festiva Resorts or Rangley Lake Resorts to buy a time share. You will be contacted by phone to invite you to attend a presentation on time shares and you will be given 2 free airline tickets. The tickets were no good, and the $30.00 gas card is not worth the trouble you will go through with these people.
Description of Work: Festiva Resorts sells time shares like Rangley Lake Resorts. My husband and myself was interested in buying a time share but due to personal injuries we needed to cancel it. We were told by a woman named Yvette that the only thing we needed to do was to return the binder that was given to us and we would receive our check back within 30 days. We had left one check dated for that day and another one post dated on the night we purchased the time share. Yvette said that the second check would be destroyed. We waited the 30 days and called Rangley lake Resorts only to be told that they could not help us due to the company was sold. After some research my husband and I found out that the company was sold long before we purchased our time share. We returned back to Rangley Lake Resorts and saw that the building now said Festiva Resorts. We spoke to Patrick Warner and Yvette, at this point Yvette told me she had never received my binder and I called her a liar. Yvette changed her mind after my husband and I got mad and started explaining to us that the corporate office already let her know that we would not be getting our down payment back because we did not write a letter to the corporate office, I asked Yvette why she had not told me I needed to do this. Yvette told me that she assumed I knew I had to put it in writing. Patrick told my husband to write down what happened and he would send it to the corporate office, Patrick said that it would give us a good chance of getting our money back. A month and a half later we received a letter letting us know that we were being let out of our contract but we were not getting our money back due to the fact that we did not put it in writing that we wanted to cancel the time share. 44 days after we received the letter telling us that we were free of our contract, Festiva Resorts cashed the second check. I am now in the process of trying to get our money back and can not seem to get anyone to call me back after multiple phone calls. My husband and I received a $30.00 gas card and 2 plane tickets good for anywhere in the USA. The gas card was used but the airline tickets ended up being no good. I was contacted by e-mail from a women that had seen my story on another forum. This women said she already owned a time share from Rangley Lakes and was very nervous because there were things going on with her time share and could get answers from anyone.
