Creasman charged me $8 to replace my watch battery, the lowest I've ever paid to have it replaced. The jewelry store on Patton Ave was going to charge me $28 to perform the exact same service.

I have been using them years for jewelry repairs and I have purchased most of my jewelry from them. They have outstanding customer service. I have always been happy with my purchases and the customer service. They provide a all around jewelry service and I will continue to use them in the future. I would give them A's across the board.

We (my fiancand eacute;e, now wife) started by going it to have an engagement ring designed, but even though we had a family heirloom diamond and were looking for silver instead of gold the cost rapidly crossed $2000. So we chose some rings out of a catalog, worked out some custom work to be done, put down a $600 deposit, and then the problems began.
First we were called back the next day and told that the rings we ordered were no longer available, that they had used an and quot;old bookand quot;. After going back and looking through the books there was not another ring we wanted, and so we were given a $600 credit to the store and restarted our search for the rings we wanted. The credit got used over three transactions.
The first transaction was having 18k screw on posts put on a pair of gold and diamond earrings that had belonged to my mother and were left to my daughter when mom passed. When I went to pick them up the day they were promised it took them nearly 10 minutes to find the earrings. Then they had written down the wrong date for pick up, so the earrings weren't ready yet. They were able to quickly make the change, but the fact that a) they didn't know where the earrings were when i first walked in, and b) hadn't completed the work on time left me with some concerns about the overall professionalism of the staff. They may have been just a pair of earrings to them, they were family heirlooms to me. And $110 after a supposed 20% discount seemed a little steep.
The second transaction went well. We found the rings we wanted online (for about 25% of what we were going to pay Creasman's) and took one in to have the family heirloom diamond mounted on it. They did a very nice job (reason for the A in overall quality) and it was done on time. There was some miscommunication among the staff on my credit but the owner came back from an errand and got it all sorted out. We were charged $85 for the work, and overall if this was my only experience with them I would have been quite happy with them. This left me with $405 in credit. I mentioned at the time I would be ordering three Sterling Silver Celtic Crosses and silver chains for our thre daughters and was told I would have plenty of credit to cover them.
So two weeks ago I go in and order 3 crosses and also tell the woman I was going to want silver chains for them. I also let her know that giving our daughters these crosses was going to be part of our wedding ceremony. Since we were using the same and quot;old bookand quot; I made a back up choice just in case the first choice wasn't available. I was told they would be in the following Friday or Monday and that they would call me if there was any problems. I didnt receive a call so I assumed everything was fine. Last Thursday (3-6 days after they were supposed to be in) I go in and I'm told that
1) they only ordered one cross
2) it isn't in yet
The woman goes back and calls the company, it seems the cross is no longer stocked by them. So I asked about the back up on. She pulls out a new book, looks it up, they do have it, she orders three of them to be overnighted, crisis averted. I then mention chains and I'm told they don't have much in the way of silver chains. We look at what they have available, I pick one out (it has a $31 tag on it) and off she goes to order them. And so now we had to make one more trip by there on our way out of town Friday to our Saturday wedding.
On Friday I get there and they have three boxes sitting behind the counter, each with exactly what I wanted in them. And a bill. For $328 more than my $405 credit. And that's after the 20% local promotion discount. After being told my credit was more than enough. The owner said the crosses I had chosen were bigger than he thought (they are 1 3/8and quot; tall, 1and quot; wide, not exactly huge). And silver is so expensive. And it was an and quot;old bookand quot;. And he used a 1.5 mm chain instead because they were so heavy. So the cost before discount was $174 per cross and $105 per chain. And I simply told him that I wasn't giving him anything more than my credit. So after several minutes of going back and forth he finally gave them to me for the credit of $405, all the while trying to make me feel guilty for taking advantage of him.
So a happy ending, right?
Except the only reason I had to use up a credit was their screw up in the first place.
And the $174 crosses are available online (same design, size, manufacturer, absolutely identical) for $50-55.
And the $105 chains are $24-$31 online.
And those are retail prices.
So I still paid $405 for basically $260 worth of stuff. And if the customer service was stellar that would have been fine, I don't mind paying for good customer service. But it was one mistake after another, one miscommunication after another, and a lot of blaming on and quot;old bookand quot;s. and that's not good enough when your dealing with people family heirlooms and special gifts.

I came home from work and saw one of my wife's gold hoop earrings on the counter all bent and twisted. It's made of tubular gold and in a couple of places it was quite dented and one place had a crack where she had tried to straighten it back out. The earring had accidently come off while she was driving in the car. When she moved the seat back to look for it her earring was crushed in the mechanism. When I went to Creasman's the jeweler looked at it. He commented he had never seen such large hoops and went into detail of how he would have to do to repair it. Soldering wires onto the dented portions, heating it up and pulling the dents back out, much like fixing a dented car fender. He said he could repair it and it would be wearable but would not look new. He gave me a price range which included labor and material (in this case gold, unfortunately for me the price has skyrocketed since I bought the earrings over 25 years ago). He said it would be done in two days. I was pleased to find someone to fix it and agreed. That night I asked my wife what she wanted for our 25th anniversary. She said she would like to get an opal replaced that had come out of a ring given to her by her mother. So the following day I called Creasman's again. I spoke to the jeweler who asked me to bring it down and he'd have a look. I took it down and he had the exact size opal to match the other two. The color was just a tiny bit different but not really noticeable. He fixed it on the spot. He also showed me a small chip in one of the other opals but said there was no need to replace it because it was only noticeable with a magnifying glass. I took it home, boy was my wife surprised and pleased. The following day I picked up her earring. Right on time and in the middle of the quoted price range. It looked wonderful. Just as he said wearable but not like new (but very close). They night my wife got a second surprise. We were both very pleased with the work we had done at Creasman's and would certainly go back and recommend them.

My engagement ring needed repair. All 18 prongs needed to be retipped, one completely replaced and it is 18K gold. I had received 2 quotes from competitors. Both were at least $150 more and they wanted to SEND the ring elsewhere to their repair site. The competitors also could not promise the return of my ring for at least 2 weeks, which made me nervous. Creasman Jewelers did the repair on site! In addition, I gave them the ring on Thursday afternoon and picked it up the following Monday, as promised.

I have a necklace from JC Penny that I love; unfortunately the chain is somewhat cheaply made. One day it broke while I was at work and I called around to a few different places trying to find one that did simple jewelry repair and would be open when I got off work around 5. I ended up going to Creasman's and they repaired the chain for me at no cost! It broke again a few months later (I literally wear this necklace almost every day and again the chain is kind of cheap, so I have no problems with their repair) and I took it back to Creasman's and they fixed it again at no cost!

This work was better than anyone ever done for me before. My ring fits great and looks great too.
