Absolute pleasure to work with Consoladated Roofing. We have a tri-level cabin with approximately 3,000 sq. ft. of wood shake shingles that they removed and replaced with standing seam metal roofing. Darin and his crew were great to work with too. Showed up when scheduled, came every day (some days were cold and windy) and cleaned up daily. Above all, very professional and great looking roof that is good for a long long time. I received three quotes and Consoladated Roofing was not the lowest, they were in the middle, but I did some research and checked with the supplier and found them to be the best qualified. Workers came and wasted no time. Metal roof was installed faster than my neighbor’s shingled roof with the same dimensions. Consolidated roofing is owned and ran a good honest people who get the work done quickly and clean.

Darin Hudgins came out promptly and gave us an estimate. He immediately sent out a crew to address the areas which leaked due to the old roof being partially removed. Shortly thereafter he sent a full crew to install our new metal roof. He did an excellent job! Our roof is complex due to the height and pitch. I wish I would have hired him to begin with.

We had hired Hudgins Roofing several years ago to put on a new roof and were quite pleased with their work. When we noticed that some shingles had come loose recently, owner Darin Hudgins came right out and fixed them and said there was no charge.  A few weeks later, he put a rust resistant paint on the chimney cap, which was not easily accessible. While taking care of the chimney cap, he took it upon himself to clean our skylights and also caulk around some pipes. Darin came out  when he said he would and did more than what we had asked of him.

Darin Hudgin  did a wonderful job installing a  metal roof on our new house.  We got estimates from 3 other contractors, all of which were a lot higher.

 Best of all, Mr. Hudgins has been very responsive after the job was finished and he was paid - which we have found to be unusual in the construction business.  We had one small problem, and he came right out and fixed it himself.

 I would use him again in a heartbeat.

I have had an unusual experience with this roofing company. They originally re-roofed my small house in 2007. While Darin was very courteous and helpful, the crew he put on my roof was unprofessional and unskilled, leaving me with a poorly installed roof. When the troubles I have had with leaks and rotting wood came to light recently, Darin Hudgins, the owner of the company immediately came forward and apologized for the problems and accepted full responsiblity for the situation, admitting that he has learned a great deal in the past 5 years and is working very hard to build a competent and professional company. He refunded my money and has offered to work with me to make things right. So I feel comfortable recommending Darin because he has shown himself to be a true professional and as someone working hard to build his small company as a respected member of the contracting community.

Color of shingles not matched - looks like a patchwork over just the repaired area. Later found several roofers nails in my driveway, because no care was taken to keep them from getting there. Actually, they would have had to have been thrown there.

[7/27/12 Edit: I was a renter at the residence and Angie's did not have that address (271 Breton Ridge Rd, Leicester) on file, when offering Hudgin's Roofing the opportunity to respond. Likewise, Hudgin's would be unfamiliar with my name, as the management company paid and contacted them. I was just the guy in the house they were working on.]

We hired Hudgins Roofing to install a new roof on our 1920s-era West Asheville home in June 2006. We had some concerns at the time -- his crew manually ripped branches off of trees near the roof in a completely haphazard way. One of the trees -- a 10-year old birch that provided lovely shade -- ended up dying the winter after work was completed. We suspect that the jagged stumps left on the tree branches made it susceptible to disease. However, our real problems started to develop three years later, when the ceiling over our bathroom caved in due to a leak in the roof that had developed. Two more leaks have developed in the past 18 months, causing several thousand dollars worth of damage to walls and ceilings. The situation has become a nightmare. Mr. Hudgins did follow up to fix problems that arose and -- after some delay -- did provide a cash payment to cover repair costs not covered by homeowner's insurance. However he consistently denies that the problems are due to initial shoddy workmanship on his company's part. It was one of his crews rather than Hudgins himself who installed the roof. They were obviously very unconcerned with doing good work. As much as Hudgins himself may be a skilled roofer, he did a very poor job of supervising his crew. Less than five years after it was installed, we now are taking steps to completely replace a roof that came with a 30-year guarantee. Who knows how many more leaks will sprout and how much more damage we will suffer if the roof is not completely replaced?

We are very happy with our roof and with the process of working with Hudgins Roofing. We meet and got estimates from 5 other roofing companies before choosing Hudgins.The company is a sole proprietorship, so you know who you are working with through the whole process. Darin Hudgins, the owner takes great pride in his work. His prices are reasonable. He is good at staying in touch, and following through with work to be done. His crew were friendly, fast working, and cleaned up as we asked them to. I would hire him again in a minute. Thank you Darin!!

The workmanship was excellent, as was their consideration to me and my property. Darin, the owner, was always checking to make sure that everything was to my satisfaction. He was also very knowledgeable about the roof installation process. I would give them a very high rating.

Darin Hudgins represents his company in a very positive way. He is a professional roofer who conducts his work in a professional manner. Darin was most helpful in assiting us in selecting the type shingle to be used. His pricing was fair and the overall service was excellent. The installation crew is well trained and does a great job while requiring little supervision. The crew arrived "on time" and the quality of their work was outstanding. I would highly recommend this contractor for any roofing job in the area....(Incidentally, the dumpster was removed a couple of hours after completion of the job)

We selected this company because of their membership and good rating with the Better Business Bureau although they were located at the other end of our county and we did not know anyone who had used them. From the first visit for an estimate, Mr. Hudgins was punctual and professional. When we was going to be a little late arriving for the estimate visit, he called to say that he was running late and when he would arrive. The price was in line with other estimates we had gotten. He was more than fair when there was some miscommunication about the shingles I had selected. Once the shingles arrived, the work was done quickly and on schedule. His crew seemed competent and stayed on task. The clean-up was good. Mr Hudgins did not ask for any payment at all until the work was completed to our satisfaction. I would easily recommend this roofing company to anyone.

I had to hire another company to do the framing for the skylight. He told me it could not be installed. They didn't have any knowledge of the skylights. It was sloppy work and he didn't have good professionalism about himself. Some of the shingle work is uneven.
