"[Member name removed], We really appreciate the work! Please let us know if there are still any issues at all. We want your floor to be 100% correct!"
He promised to remove the bad wood and make the floor look like a new floor. He also said what could not be fixed, like tile extending into the rooms under the doors, another "hallmark" from the previous contractor.
Blue Ridge Floors came through with flying colors.
We no longer have to fear backing up in our chairs and having a wheel go into a hole in the floor or a having a sock snag on the wood as we walk across the bedroom. We just walk from room to room without thinking about anything except the beauty of the floor.
We were called to review the progress at three stages of the work. We were greeted politely and professionally by all the people concerned. They started exactly when they said the would on Monday morning and had moved us in 10 days later on Friday at 3 as planned.
The floors are gorgeous, even and matte-finished throughout.
I had expected to be dusting the entire house from ceiling to floor, but they had used sanders to extract the sawdust and we had none of that residual problem. Blue Ridge even dusted the furniture that was stored in the bathrooms and had gotten a film from the sanding.
They got every evidence that they had been here out, removing the debris bags and all the blue tape and plastic covers from the house. All that was left was the beautiful wood floor.
I would hire them again without any reservation.
"Thank you! This is a great report. We are so pleased that you guys are so happy with all of the work. I had to respond and mention that you both were some of our favorite customers we've had. Very helpful and and understanding. We are grateful for having the opportunity to make your floor show it's true beauty. Hopefully we can stay in touch with one another in the future!"
"With regret to have to defend our company: Customer did intend to manipulate us into providing more labor and materials than she was paying for. We completed an estimated $550 worth of non-charged upgrades (without complaint from our staff) due to her stating that she assumed these things were included even though it was in black and white on the quote. The money was as always, professional dealings on our part. The numbers in her comments don't match our conversations or dealings. There was no change or attempt to change the cost whatsoever. We, as a company, have very strict rules against this. This was in addition to the $400 discount we took off the top of the price. The final check the customer wrote us for $3100 was returned “non-sufficient funds” and has been documented. We were locked out of the jobsite in early afternoon hours twice, and again one evening when we were scheduled to come coat the floor. We were never made aware that she would be locking us out at early hours. This did cause the job to run 2 days long on the 2 week project. The customer admitted to me at her place of business that she had exaggerated the report on Angie's list to be worse than the situation was because she had grown upset because of the schedule. With further investigation, we found that she has been manipulative with other contracting companies. We will refuse to work for this customer in the future."
