Rentals - Cars
Avis/Budget Rental Car at Sears on Tunnel Rd.
The woman attendant was prompt and punctual with providing the car we needed on short notice.
The problem occurred upon our returning the car. We returned it without damage. And, we had filled it with $8.00 of gas. We kept the receipt as she had directed us to do when we rented the car. We had driven the car a total of 39 miles as indicated on the receipt.
Upon returning the car we gave the same woman the gas receipt and explained we had filled the tank, the gas pump indicated the tank was full and we had continued pumping to an even dollar amount, hence $8.00. Yet, the car gas gauge never went back to totally full, it hung at 7/8's.
The same woman rental car attendant proceeded to tell us we could take the car and put more gas in it or she would charge us an extra $13.99. We explained we had filled it and could not force more gas into the tank. She continued to say it was returned with 7/8's.
I asked her how many miles we drove the car. She said she couldn't tell because the receipt didn't indicate mileage.
Finally, out of shear frustration I told her to go ahead and charge the $13.99 and we would never rent from her or Avis again. And, once we had the receipt in hand, the mileage is plainly printed on it.
