Worst bank I've ever dealt with. They don't smile; they are rude and unprofessional. I've taken my account elsewhere.

Convenient location with savings interest rates below average and employees who act like they'd rather not be there.

The refinancing did not go very well. I have to say that Lynn Davis, senior loan originator at Asheville Savings Bank, is very hard to get in touch with. My wife and I had to call multiple times to get a return call, and sometimes we were left hanging as first-time home refinancers. The biggest problem of all, and what made me write this review, is that ASB is no longer our loan company. As soon as we secured the low percentage loan with them, no sooner had the ink on the closing papers dried than our loan was sold to another bank. A bank without an office in this town, or anywhere nearby. If we had wanted a mortgage through this other bank, we would have called them. We were trying to "keep it local" and now we have to send our mortgage check off to a company where we know no one, and will probably never even visit a branch due to the far distance from Asheville. Big deal, you say? They also closed our escrow account and sent us a refund of the funds in it. Now we have to set up a new account with a no-name not local bank we've never heard of. I am aware that this is supposedly routine for banks, but I didn't want my loan to move out of town. It's a big PITA and I will not ever use ASBs services again because of this.
