Bruce and his team are awesome!  They have moved us four times and each time they were punctual, worked very hard, thought of the little things and took extra care with our stuff.  They are reasonable and really work quickly.  Being paid by the hour, that says a lot.

After four moves we not only consider them excellent people to give our business to, but friends.

I never thought moving could be fun before Bruce and his crew helped us re-locate.  They did a great job, they did it quickly, nothing was damaged, and the cost was very reasonable.  As another reviewer said, you will be glad you have these guys on your side.  Bruce is a big supporter of local businesses, and as far as I'm concerned, Asheville Moving Company exemplifies why Asheville is a such a great place to live.

Second time I have used Bruce & Clete. We are moving partners for life. You want them on your side during one of life's most stressful occurrences. All my stuff is in one piece and I'm still smiling.

This was by far the best moving experience we have ever had. Bruce and Colton were so caring about our furniture. They started the day by bringing us breakfast. They worked hard and and the job was A plus.
They moved things around until I was sure that was where I wanted it. They were so professional and very fun to work with.
I would highly recommend them . They will provide you a stressfree moving day.

I purchased the sofa on Saturday and Bruce's company was among those recommended by the store.  The salesperson placed a star, indicating a good choice, next to his company so naturally I also checked Angies's List.
I called Monday at 2:00 PM and was told they could pick up the sofa at 4:00 PM the same day!  As promised, I received a text at 4:00 that the sofa had just been picked up, there would be a slight delay in delivery and it was delivered at the time promised.
Everything went smoothly and was completed quickly.  The guys are professional and even moved a heavy table onto a rug for me.
I will definitely use this company when I move to a new house later this year.

I called Bruce and told him what we needed help with, and he was, it turned out, going to be able to help us during the window of time that we would need help unloading. He gave me an idea of the cost I might be looking at, and then sent me a text (with a follow up call the day before the move was planned), confirming the date. To say he was encouraging and friendly from the get-go would be an understatement. He told me it would go smoothly, that we would have two non-smoking and sober men, and that it would be completely stress free. He showed up the day we had arranged for him to show up, and I knew right away I could trust he and his helper completely. Not only did they take the time to tour the house with us to get a sense of how much pre-planning we had done, but watching them handle the first of our belongings (post-haste) gave me instant comfort. Everything was unloaded from the trailer and placed in the spots we had designated for each thing. It was a massive amount of work, and Bruce did not seem to mind that I was helping with the unloading. He not only made it clear through his actions that our belongings were very important to him, but also that his helper's safety was also extremely important. And, as daylight grew short, he called two of his other guys to come help finish. Not one thing was damaged by them. They were all so pleasant to work with, and incredibly hard working. Bruce, especially, is a really nice, interesting person. I have made other moves in the past, and can honestly say I would not re-hire any of my previously hired help. Bruce is the one rare exception to this. We always hear such horror stories about the moving industry, and Bruce by far obviously has a goal of making sure this is not the sentiment when a person has used his services. The day after the move, he called to say he could stop by and help for a few minutes if there was anything else we needed help with. And, to make matters even more fantastic, he gave us a grill (he even filled up two propane tanks, and delivered the whole package to our back deck). I have no question in my mind, Bruce is very definitely one of the finest there is in the moving industry. He takes it many steps beyond just helping with a job. He relates with a truly human and easy going, mild mannered, yet entirely professional, demeanor. I only regret that there are not at least 500 others around the country who are just like him.

This "perfect" move began when Bruce offered to begin at 8:30AM the day after my call (although I needed to schedule it for the following day instead). I described the project over the phone, and Bruce immediately provided me a very reasonable quote -- quick and simple.
Clete and Tommy arrived on schedule (halfway up a mountain on gravel roads), and checked with me every step of the way to make certain that I was comfortable with their handling of the printer -- a two-hundred pound monstrosity. They also loaded for me -- without hesitation -- a few add-on items.
It turns out that they had recently moved one of my neighbors, so they knew exactly where the destination home was, and went directly there after loading. Their biggest challenge was keeping the printer level while carrying it up what amounted to two full flights of steps, one outdoors and one indoors. They navigated through the narrow passageway, working among turns, corners, light fixtures, and railings.
Bottom line: I'm up and running again after my having procrastinated this move for many months. They made it seem easy! It wasn't -- they're just great at what they do!
I would recommend Asheville Moving Co. for any move, I and will be calling them again when I'm ready to move on.

From our first contact by phone, Bruce was very helpful-- even giving us advice on what to ask other moving companies when shopping for quotes, which helped us avoid hidden costs. His helpfulness and fair price won us over. Bruce and his team were professional and very friendly. They efficiently moved our items, wrapped and protected the furniture, and even swept out the storage unit.  I would definitely hire them again and recommend without hesitation. It is also nice to support a locally owned company.

When my husband's mother gave us a priceless family china cabinet, we knew we did not want to try moving it ourselves.  I called several moving companies, but because it was summer (their busiest season), we could not find anyone who would take this small job for less than $300.00.  We had almost resigned to renting a U-Haul ourselves, when I decided to try one more company ... Local Guys Moving.
Bruce indicated he was also slammed, but that he would be happy to work us in one evening after all his other jobs were done for the small fee of $125.00.  We were elated.  My husband was leaving the country for a few weeks, but Bruce and I agreed to connect when my husband returned.
Upon returning from Scotland, I suggested to my husband that he should call Bruce and set up the particulars. What transpired next, however, could be described as a comedy of errors.  Bruce was never given our contact information, while I waited patiently for "The Local Guys" to show at our house, believing that my husband had provided them with all the necessaries regarding directions and phone numbers.
When I realized what had happened, I contacted Bruce myself.  Despite not having us on his schedule, he said he could be here in an hour and a half, so I waited once more.  Two hours later, I called, only to discover my cell phone had not captured on his.  Once again, he'd had no way to contact me.  Despite this, he had asked his crew to wait - unbeknownst to him, only 1/4 of a mile from my in-law's house, praying I would call.  He finally had to send his weary crew home.
Bruce saved the day, (and possibly my marriage), however.  He immediately offered to do the job himself, even though the clock was creeping towards 8 pm.  He and two other Knights rode all the way from Waynesville to Fairview - a good 45 minute drive, to make good on their promise.  I wish I could say the drama ended here, but it didn't.
We live on the side of a mountain.  To my horror, their truck got stuck near the top of our driveway, as it had rained all day.  Bruce and his knights had to hand carry this behemoth the rest of the way UP the driveway in the dusky dark.  Not once did anyone complain or whine.  This 200 year old piece of family history had not the first scratch.
$125.00 does not even come close to paying for the trouble these guys went through.  If I ever have moving needs again, I will always use "The Local Guys."  In today's world when service seems to be a word of days gone by, The Local Guys set the standard.  Truly, they provided the best service I have ever experienced.

I could not be happier with the experience and outcome. Not one piece of furniture was damaged/dropped/bumped, they were very careful. They worked at a quick pace without any element of carelessness. The weather was on and off rainy and they shrink-wrapped (very quickly) the pieces as not to get wet. These guys are local and their labor are regulars, not day labor, and were obviously experienced. The rate was per hour, which I liked, especially as quickly as they moved. They had to negotiate two flights of stairs off the street and a half flight to the porch, no problem. I highly recommend this company, you won't be disappointed - respectful, helpful, and with your best interest at heart.

This was by far THE BEST moving experience I have ever had. Bruce and Cleat showed up and helped me pack and sort through the things I was moving out of my house. It was a bit of an emotional move- I was at my wits end and completely overwhelmed when they showed up. They arrived with amazing POSITIVE ENERGY AND ATTITUDE. They recognized I was having a hard time and were kind and compassionate about it but at the same time got the job done very efficiently, quickly, and kept me on task. They wrapped the fragile items carefully (we had no breakage!!) . We moved my stuff to a warehouse and a week later to a container for shipping. Additionally, they helped me to figure out the best and most cost effective way to move long distance (they do long distance moves but I didn't have enough for a whole truck). It all worked out perfectly-I have never had such a pleasant, easy moving experience. I have used them since-to move furniture that I have bought into my house and to move furniture into another house. Every time has been the same great experience, a high level of professionalism and a reasonable price. I can't say enough about Bruce and Cleat-my moving angels.

They're phenomenal.  I have never worked with better movers.  They're amazing.  They have polite service and positive attitudes, oddly enough.  I was moving a household I had lived in for 15 years and they made it a super easy experience.  They did as much as I wanted or needed.  They took their own initiative and helped out in great ways.

Leading up to the move, Bruce communicated well, making sure that all of our questions were answered and reassuring us at every turn. On moving day, they showed up promptly, had me show them all that needed to happen and then went to it. They were fast, efficient and organized (best-packed truck I've ever seen!) while taking great care with our goods and with the house at each end. What was already packed, they loaded with care. What wasn't, they packed carefully. These men were wizards with the shrink wrap and pads, making sure that everything was well-protected. So far, as we unpack, we haven't found anything damaged. They even found ways to dispose of large items that we would had to organize a special trash pick-up for. Everything at our new home was placed and arranged in an organized fashion. Seems strange to say, but Bruce and Cletus made moving a real pleasure.
