About us

The Deconstruction team of Habitat staff and volunteers work with builders, developers and homeowners to salvage reusable building materials from structures prior to demolition or remodeling. Building materials and supplies like flooring, windows and doors, cabinetry and appliances that are removed from a building are then sold to the general public in the Habitat ReStore at 30 Meadow Road. Benefits of the new program to our community include: The diversion of usable building materials from our landfill, Providing a source of affordable building materials for reuse in our community, Creation of new living-wage jobs in Buncombe County, Support for Habitat for Humanity’s mission to eliminate substandard housing, Salvaged material is a tax deductible donation to Habitat for Humanity. If you have a building that is slated for demolition or you're embarking on a remodeling project, large or small, please contact the Deconstruction team at Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity to find out if your project can help to build Habitat homes in Buncombe County through the salvage of reusable materials. Did a great job. On time, very professional and careful. Cleaned up debris and disconnected plumbing and electrical connections. These guys are excellent. Cost was less then half Lowe's and cabinets and sinks will be sold and not sent to landfill.

They have a retail store. It's a non-profit, community-oriented helping service agency. They've been in the city of Asheville for years and years. They're very well-known. I've held them very high. They do great work. They're committed to the community.

They have a good quality. They would put it out on the floor and resell it to respective regular resale store. It's a good will for salvation army. They're wonderful. I think their prices were getting a little bit too ahead of themselves. I think that if they keep their prices intact they would keep the trucking consumers. I would use this store again in the future.

Joel, the deconstruction superintendent was absolutely great. He came out to review the job, was punctual, let us know exactly what he would do and how long it would take (1 day). We later made an appointment for the removal, and again, he and helper showed up on time and completed the job by 1:00 pm that day. They worked fast but carefully, left the power and plumbing safe and secure, and cleaned up. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome.

I was remodeling a kitchen and needed to have all my cabinet and counter tops removed. It was going to cost me quite a bit.
These
guys came out out and tore everything out. Neatly and best of all it
was not thrown away. It went to habitat and re purposed... and even
better... I got a tax credit!!! What a great win win situation.

They did a very good job, removed them and took them to a habitat. I was very pleased and the price was right. They left my place neat and clean, got it done in a short amount of time and were very reasonable.
