We are an Angie's List Super Service award winner for tree removal and care in Asheville, NC and the surrounding communities. We specialize in extremely technical removals and have three ISA Certified Arborists, an ISA Certified Tree Worker, and two TCIA Certified Treecare Safety Professionals on staff. We have over 30 years of combined service in the field and pride ourselves on going above and beyond our clients expectations. We are members of the the International Society of Arboriculture, the Tree Care Industry Association, Blue Ridge Arborist Association , and the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce. I've also used them in the past to treat hemlock trees for the wooly adelgid problem. Their treatment was entirely successful and I'm one of very few people that still have a large stand of these kind of trees.
I wouldn't hesitate to call them again for any problem. Highly recommended!

They also cleared a lot of deadwood from my 2 acres of all woods on another occasion, and again were helpful in my decision NOT to clear some of the deadwood that will serve as wildlife habitat. They are thus avid conservationists as well as tree experts in my book. They are knowledgeable about different types of trees, helping me to decide what combinations of trees were best removed or best left alone.
They are certified arborists. I'd advise anyone to examine the work it takes to become certified before hiring. My search produced an easy choice.

I thought their price was a little high for what they did, but I thought it was okay. They did a lot. They did a good job and showed up. I have had problems with tree people before not showing up.
When first contacting Craig he let me know up front that due to all the work already scheduled Asheville Arborists would not be able to come out right away. This was very helpful for setting expectations. He responded to my initial call later that evening and we set up a consultation. During the consultation Craig walked over the property and reviewed all the trees with me, pointing out issues, and identifying what might be done and whether it was critical or not. He seemed very knowledgeable about trees, which I very much valued since the main reason for my call was a cherry tree that was badly affected by a disease. I was looking for someone with knowledge about trees and tree health (an arborist), not just timber removal. We decided on what work was to be done and the price and it was scheduled for about 10 days out.
The day before the work was to be done someone called to confirm and give an idea of when the crew would be on site. The crew arrived on time and the crew leader confirmed with me the work to be done. The crew got right to work and had everything done in a few hours. Some new construction had started across from my house, so unexpectedly there was a lot of heavy equipment in the vicinity, but the crew adapted to this without any problems, and worked cooperatively with the builders to position equipment as needed. While we were reviewing the work, I realized there was a large weed shrub I wanted to get rid of but had forgotten about -- they were able to work this in as part of the project (that alone saved me several hours of work). When finished they cleaned up the area picking up cuttings and leaving the yard looking good.
Was very pleased with the results! The pruned cherry tree looked much better, was cleared some in the interior, and is much easier to work around now. The other pruned trees also looked much better and more open. I confess I was a bit concerned with pruning during the heat of summer and in the middle of the dry spell we were having at the time, despite Craig's assurances. So I waited several weeks before writing this review, just to make sure, but the trees are all flourishing and look great!
Based on my experience with project, I will definitely use Asheville Arborists again, and will recommend them to others. They are knowledgeable about trees, do efficient and thorough work, communicate well, and all for what I felt was a reasonable price.
