Crew arrived as scheduled, worked quickly and efficiently with no heavy equipment. Their advice saved two trees that I thought would have to be cut. Complete removal of debris, treated hemlock for wooly Adelgid. A thoroughly professional operation. Will use again.

Working with Appalachian Arborists was a positive experience from the get-go. Will responded to my email promptly and came out within the week for an estimate.
Scheduling the work was done by email.
The crew - Will, Jason, and Neil - arrived on time and worked hard for 6 hours. All were courteous and professional. I am quite pleased with how the trees look, and anticipate seeing a great improvement next spring when they leaf out.

Will came to look at my trees after one had just fallen over and narrowly missed a neighbor's house. He carefully examined all the trees and especially their roots and determined that 2 were damaged due to a soil fungus and were structurally unsound.  He explained what had happened to the trees and why.  He explained what to look for as signs of problems and when we should have the trees examined again.  He recommended treatment of one tree and gave me the names of companies that remove trees for the 2 that have to come down.  He will be returning to do the treatment, for which he quoted a reasonable price.  Will's knowledge and expertise was evident. He was very reassuring regarding the condition of the remaining trees. I will definitely have him return to look at my trees on a regular basis. The oaks are very large and would do much damage if they fell.

This is the second time Jason and his crew pruned the large Leyland Cyress hedge we have in front of our home.  And they did just as good a job this time as they did the first.  This is a very long Leyland hedge -- over 100 feet in length.  In spite of such length, they were able to keep it totally uniform in height and appearance.  They leave it looking exactly as it should.  They have high standards. As others have noted, they are punctual, efficient with their time on the job, and professional in every way.  I am very happy with their work and will continue using them with confidence.  Others have offered to do the work for less, but I'm staying with Appalachian Arborists.  I stay with people I trust, who are getting harder and harder to find every day.  I feel fortunate to have found them with Appalachian Arborists.  They have my highest recommendation.

We are very pleased with the job they performed. They completely removed the tree and cleaned up the area. They even back filled the stump hole. Except for the fact the tree is gone, there were no signs they had been on-site.

They examined my Hemlocks, said they were healthy, needle drop was natural, but a large dead branch from a nearby Maple, and diagnosed a problem with a huge flowering Poplar....They know more about trees than two other Arborists knew. And, it is obvious they care about the well being of trees..I will use them exclusively from now on.  Excellent.

Estimator arrived when he said. He listened to what we wanted, and discussed options on ways to achieve our goals. The work team showed up when expected, the work was professional, and better than I anticipated. We will hire them again for additional work.

They sprayed a sixty or seventy foot ornamental cherry in my front yard.  It was attacked two or three years ago by a fungus which caused the leaves to turn yellow and fall off.   They sprayed it twice in a year for two years running; once in the spring and once in the fall.  It cost me $360 for both spring and fall.  They have also done tree trimming; cutting out dead wood.  I have three ornamental cherries.  They have done good work.  They give me advices about how to deal with trees.  They are really good.   I have to call them and find out when they can come to spray this year.

Several years ago, I received an estimate from another tree company for over $1,000, and was told that our trees would need to be treated annually. Given the cost, we gave up on the trees and planned to cut them down when they died.

When the trees continued to survive, I called this company to give us an estimate. I was amazed and delighted to find out that we could save our trees for $200! Within two days of talking to Will Blozan, our trees had been treated.

Blozan is very knowledgeable about the problem, and he pointed me toward scientific studies about imidocloprid to ease my environmental concerns. He and his company will check the trees later this year and check on the efficacy of the first treatment before deciding to apply another. I wish I'd called Appalachian Arborists years ago, before our hemlocks started their decline. Highly recommend this company.

When Jason came to look at the job for the estimate, he told us they had done other jobs that spanned property lines, so he was sensitive about those aspects of the planning, meeting with us and the neighbor involved. When the day came, the three person crew arrived on time and reviewed just what we wanted done before getting to work.  Since some of the work was "vista pruning," one crewman came onto our deck and from there guided the one in the tree as to which branches to prune to optimize the view with least effect on the tree.  The results are wonderful.  They were very safety conscious and also cleaned up well before they left. We will definitely use them again.

Pretty much as described above. I was pleased with service (my trees are apparently free of the adelgids at this time). they have treated these trees on two occasions about 18 months apart, but have not contacted them lately.

Will arrived on time and walked us through the property to evaluate which trees needed pruning. We knew some trees required pruning to improve the overall structure and Will pointed out other trees that were at risk as well. His knowledge of trees is quite amazing. None of the trees have leaves due to the season. He's able to I.D. trees by bark texture and limb formation. He was right 100% of the time. It took less that 1.5 hours to prune all the trees. After he left, we walked around to look at the trees and it was apparent that this was a good investment. Will is rare in that he has integrity and would not advise a customer to hire him for a job just to make money. I had that experience a few years ago with another company and it was costly. We will continue to use Appalachian Arborists as long as we're in the area.

I've hired this company numerous times and have always had very good experiences. They provide excellent advice and proposals and their prices are very fair. They show up as promised and complete work just as agreed. They are also courteous and friendly. Their specialty is saving hemlocks and I trust them for all around great tree service. Very highly recommended!
