They have been excellent. They are pricy but they are worth it and I would recommend them as well.

This is a predatory practice. I live in both Canada and the U.S. and so my dog has to have a vet on both sides of the border. This one refuses to do as something as simple as a gland expression without making me have a "yearly" physical and bloodwork done, even though they have the records of them being done just a short time ago. Another example of lack of care for the animals, over price gouging. What a shame.

Our dogs are always excited to go to AHNA. Our cats not so much, but cats don't get too excited about much. I can say that our excellent vet in Illinois (before our relocation) called one of my cats "Sid Vicious" but she never hissed, scratched, bit or even growled at any of the techs or Dr. Plankenhorn at AHNA as she had done with our previous vet. We couldn't be happier and I always recommend AHNA although not many people are willing to drive that far for a vet.

We're very, very happy with them. For pricing, they tend to be high and I'd give them a B; A for everything else.

They're wonderful. It was a lot of work and tests involved. I think all in all, we had a couple of visits, it was about $400 for a bunch of tests. They did an x-ray on her. We have used them for many many years. They go way out of their way to make sure the pets are comfortable when they are there, and they have staff that have a lot of specialties and are very good about what they do.

Have been using them for about 6 years. It was closer. We started using them because the vet wasn’t able to care properly like this vet does. The vet we used was somebody who we got to know, because he lives in the same neighborhood as our son & daughter-in-law.

They’re a little pricey. We used to live in Fayetteville. It is more expensive for the veterinarian here than it was in Fayetteville. Very knowledgeable. Workers are good.

My cat went for his regular checkup in October. They looked and said, "Well, he needs to have some dental work done, he needs to have his teeth cleaned." They did very well at that. I brought him back to have his teeth cleaned and what they had to do was, put the cat out and do x-rays. This is a 13 year old cat and they called me and said his teeth are being resorbed. That means that they're dissolving from the root up. It's like, "What?" But, I've got 18 pages of clinical observations and notes that came home with him and you can see that the roots on the teeth - some teeth have got complete roots and some teeth, the roots are getting fuzzy. So he had eight teeth taken out. They didn't pressure me, but they said, "We'll take out the teeth that absolutely have to come out, but then, we see x, x, x that probably will be needing to be removed in the next year because if they're resorbing they're going to fall out anyway." He had some that were broken off. So, they said, "You can do whatever you think is best." So I thought about it and I said, "Well, it's probably better if we just go ahead and do this now so that I'm not bringing him back and having him go through this again." They did that and I brought him home. Unfortunately, he is not doing well, he is not healing. I brought him back yesterday because he had this odor about him and the vet said, "Well, lets' give him some antibiotic." I think she gave him another pain shot. They said that cats need to eat at least every 36 to 48 hours, dogs can go like a week and not eat, but cats have to eat because they need that fuel. So they put on his chart that he was anorexic. I am force-feeding him with a syringe. I'm shooting it in his mouth because his mouth is very disturbed from all this dental work. They're very professional I think, because they tell you, "Do this or you can do this or if you don't do this..." There are nine vets there, so you're always going to get a vet. But then, you choose whichever one you want to go with. I may bring him back tomorrow if he doesn't get up and start eating. Between the two days, it was $1050. As a matter of fact, they said, "I saw you coming, you're checked in already." If you need a vet quickly, they will do their best to provide one or they will tell you to go to the animal rescue. They will be very upfront about what they can do for you. Yesterday, they said, "Bring him in and we'll look at it." I think they're reliable and you will find a vet that is your flavor.

At one point, we had 5 cats and 3 dogs, so they were taking care of 8 animals for us. They kept track of when each animal needed & what kind of vaccinations. We had cats that had to be put down. My cat that I had about 20 years, was put down about 6 months ago. They tried very, very hard to save him. But, when they found out that he had cancer, they left it up to us, but gave us the prognosis. And we made the decision to put him down. They were very, very caring and respectful of the seriousness & the emotions regarding that decision. We are very lucky to have them in Ashville. They have a couple of operating theaters, large kennels for the animals that come in that need hospitalization or if you want to board there. It is extremely clean. They will do everything that they can do, if you ask them to do it. For instance, we used to have one cat that we used to have to muzzle in order to cut his nails. We would take him over there, and they would cut his nails. And he never seemed shell shocked when he came back, so we knew they weren’t doing anything inhumane to him when they were cutting his nails. They were so compassionate. We will never change vets.

It went very well! He recovered and the scare is almost invisible. They gave us excellent instructions for the after care. They even have a specialist in teeth, an orthodontist. They also have classes on how to interact with your animal, how to correct bad habits that your dog has gotten into. Periodically people come in for acupuncture. I can?t say enough good about them.

I have 5 cats and I think the one that I took the last for the dental surgery had some teeth removed and he also had a torn ACL so I wanted to see whether that could be fixed or not.
