Mad Roofer

I work in the construction industry and had these guys come put a metal roof on my house. Everything went well, house looks great, and it should last for many years. Thanks for the good work. I have already recommended them a few times. We pulled three bids in originally, all from good local roofers. These guys hit a good balance of quality, and affordability.

The process went better than expected mainly do to expertise, including the crew, timeliness, and communication before during and after the installation. Steve listened to expectations and roofing issues then came onsite to examine the roofing and construction. It became obvious that he was an expert in all things about metal roofing which is important I found out researching that many metal roofing installs, including my older metal roof can be installed incorrectly allowing for long term recurring leaks, critter (bats) access and wind damage. Use an expert specializing in metal roofing! Based on my needs and the assessment he provided two options of high quality products with detailed materials and labor the day after he was onsite. Pictures of the progress and issues like water damaged wood were sent as they developed. He communicated his schedule and changes in a timely manner. Overall, Mad Roofer has been the best and most reliable contractor I have worked with in years.

This company is one of the best companies that we have ever worked with for a home improvement project! The owner Steve is very knowledgeable about roofing options and provided us with timely estimates. He also remained on budget, which never happens! They are prompt and organized. They arrived everyday at 7 am to start working on our roof and worked until 5 or 6 pm. They are all very hard workers and they are super neat and conscientious of our home and us. They were able to work around the weather and kept in communication with us at all times. We HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone looking to put on a new roof!

Excellently. Most roofers ignored my calls and did not return voicemails. Mad Roofer answered my call the first time and was as punctual and professional the entire time they were repairing my leak. Moreover, the quality of the work was outstanding. I will be calling them for any repair or replacement need from now on.

We are very pleased with the way everything looks and we are happy with our new roof. We had a few concerns during the project because of our unfamiliarity of metal roof but everything came out very nice.

Quick to come out to inspect for quote. Price was at or better than the other quotes. Friendly. Great cleanup - didn't leave a mess. There was a misunderstanding on one part of the project and when we brought it to his attention it was taken care of right away.

So pleased with our new roof. Looks amazing. Brightens up the house. Help was very professional and friendly and was done in no time. Everything was cleaned up afterwards.

GREAT! The entire team were friendly, professional and non stop workers. My roofing job was complicated, and the attention to detail was ever present. I'm someone who asks a lot of questions and both Steve and Dan were always available to answer them. And "last but not least", the clean up every evening was amazing! Everything wrapped up tight at days end and Mike was meticulous with the magnet picking up nails and shingle debris.

Steve Rulli, the Mad Roofer, responded promptly to my request for estimates on replacing the roofing on a couple of small houses I own, and after discussion and his presenting me with numerous options, I signed up for the work. His crew knocked it out in good time, and I am very happy with the results, especially the metal roof which looks fantastic! It's not the first time I've hired him and it won't be the last. He's also helped me in the past with some smaller projects including chimney repairs (especially pleased with a custom metal chimney cap he made and installed) and a couple of partial re-roof projects.

Steve came out and took some measurements before sending me a few quotes for different options and a timeline. Once we decided what we wanted he was able to get the job done quickly. The new roof is perfect. It looks great and was fairly priced. He answered all of my questions and concerns before he got started. It's the first time I've had such a major repair on my home, and he made it a breeze. He even cleaned my gutters and applied credit towards the replacement for a recent repair he'd performed.

We had a terrible experience with Steve Rulli/The Mad Roofer. After researching online, as well as get a friend recommendation to use Steve to replace our existing shingled roof with a metal roof, we chose to move forward. Steve estimated not only our roof replacement, but replacing existing flashing around our chimney and in areas that were needed. He did an extremely poor job with these items, as well as put our guttering back up completely incorrectly. Now, the water just sits in our gutter and will not drain properly because it wasn't re-installed correctly. We unfortunately paid in full because Steve was insistent on being paid as soon as the job was complete, and it wasn't until our first rain that we noticed things were not functioning properly. We had a general contractor inspect to see what was happening and at that point did he point out all Steve did incorrectly or poorly. We reached out to Steve to come and take a look at our issues, providing him pictures and exact information as to what was happening/wrong. That is when the ugly texts began, very poor and unprofessional language was used, he refused to correct his mistakes, and he refused to communicate with us further. At this point we are having to get someone else to completely re-do these items and pay twice for something that should and could have been done correctly the first time. I have given him 1 star on this review because honestly, the roof he installed looks to be fairly good quality and decent work. However, everything else that went along with the roof was incredibly disappointing. After mentioning to another contractor in general conversation what had happened to us with Steve, he informed us that Steve has a very bad reputation in the area for not being willing to fix his mistakes or do things correctly the first time. I just wish we had learned this information sooner, as we would have chosen someone else to work with. I would definitely never be able to recommend him for any work, but if you do, I would certainly not pay him in full before all work is completed and inspected for accuracy.

Mad Roofer was the only company who answered my request quickly and made good on their word! Leak was fixed with good attention to the work. I have appreciated working with Steve 2x now on smaller jobs, so he will likely be the first person I call and recommend for larger ones!

Project went well. Steve and his guys did what they said they would do and when they said they would do it. I will hire again.

I needed some cedar shakes replaced on the house I had just purchased because the insurance company wouldn’t cover the roof in the condition it was in I called him and he sent someone to look at it. He gave me an estimate of $1199.00. The estimate said $900.00 for shakes and had other miscellaneous hardware to total $1199. He told me that they would repair it so it would pass the insurance inspection so I told him to go ahead. The guy who came out to look at it was the guy who showed up by hisself to do the repairs. He only showed up with one bundle and had to go to the store to get another bundle. He spent about 3 hours working on the roof and when he was finished he said it would pass... it didn’t. I still had missing shakes. I called him and his answer was “ I will take the 1199 off the cost of a new roof and I will give you an estimate in a day or two” ... he didn’t. As far as I am concerned he stole 1199 from me because I still need my roof fixed.

Great job, He fit us into his schedule because the roof was actively leaking.
