Freddy thought outside the box and came up with a kitchen design that closed one existing entrance and moved another to maximize countertop and cabinet space.  The cabinetry he spec'd worked out beautifully:  attractive to the eye and very functional, and it accommodates all my kitchen gear in convenient locations.  The kitchen itself works well as a prep and cook space with no wasted steps.

I had the task of getting kitchen cabinets for our new house.  As is often the case, what seems easy is not always simple.  I took the floor plan and my envisioned idea of the kitchen layout to several people.  They identified the elements on my want list, and totaled up a price that made my budget look ridiculous.
The only real help I got was from Freddy at Asheville Cabinets.  I made an appointment with him, and he said he?d do his best.  These are the things that Freddy did:
·
He selected a line of cabinets that was likely to fit my budget rather than choose a line that had the bells and whistles I wanted.  This meant a limited choice of styles and colors, but gave me what I really wanted--an all plywood cabinet rather than an all particle board cabinet.
·
He looked at each element of the layout, and designed a kitchen that would be easy to use.  This involved the addition of several 3? spacing panels, the rearranging of the stove and refrigerator, and the modification of a few of the cabinets.  While the overall cabinet space was reduced, the result was a much more enjoyable and functional kitchen.  Now the window over the sink was opened up, the cabinet and refrigerator doors opened fully, the cabinet hardware did not bang into each other, the kitchen was better balanced, and the kitchen embraced universal design principles.
·
He was very patient with me.  As new-to-me options and construction possibilities were identified, I would change details, such as cabinet configuration or size.  This resulted in time consuming refinements and re-dos.
·
He provided excellent customer service.  He was prompt in returning designs and quotes.   He did not hurry appointments.  Samples of cabinet construction, door styles and finishes were easily accessed.  Questions were answered honestly.  He gave information for ancillary organization, such as how delivery and inspection of cabinets was done.  He was disclosing and through.
·
He was well organized.  He only accepts residential appointments at certain times, thus he does not over schedule.  He successfully wears several hats at a time.  Since no one else was in the office at the time of our appointment, he asked if it would be alright if he answered the phone.  I was glad of this, since it gave me time for reflection and selection.  But most of all, I was glad that he did not miss out on a timely contact.  When someone wanted more detail, he did say he was in an appointment and would call back.
Wow!  I don?t think I have been this satisfied with a provider for a long time.
Thank you, Freddy!

OMG!  Class act folks!  Can't say enough about how awesome this company is!  You cannot go wrong!  Period!  If you need a new kitchen then this is THE place.  Quality, experience and price.  Everybody was over the top with friendliness and attention to our needs.  You CANNOT go wrong.  Seriously!  I seldomly praise companies because good customer service is hard to come by these days it seems.  But this company, 10 stars!  Best $75 you will ever spend!

I purchased and remodeled a mid-century ranch style house in Asheville. The cabinets that I purchased from Freddy at Asheville Cabinets are beautiful and the installation went very well. All the remodeling work done by Flat Rock Woodworks is excellent. I have received countless positive comments from friends and family regarding the remodel. I can't say enough good things about my experience with both of these companies.

We decided to remodel and enlarge our kitchen, and hired a general contractor to handle most of the work, but opted to do our own search for cabinets. We'd checked with all of the usual retailers (Lowe's Home Depot, independent kitchen & bath cabinet companies, etc.) for brands, styles and prices, and somehow found one place that was "off the radar" (doesn't advertise, doesn't hype itself in other ways) -- Asheville Cabinets. Freddy Keilman came to the rescue -- in every way. First, he "undersold" us by suggesting we select a product line that was fairly new to the market and whose products were well-built and less expensive than others. Then he came to the house, took measurements, went back to his office and custom-designed all cabinets (and enduring a lot of our requests for odd shapes). He placed the order and followed the manufacture of the cabinets through delivery.

Freddy was prompt, courteous and very professional. He answered all of my questions and gave me good advice. The cabinets arrived on time and in excellent condition. One was back ordered and Freddy stayed on top of it until it was delivered. All in all, I had an excellent experience with Asheville Cabinets and would not hesitate to use Freddy again. I wholeheartedly recommend Asheville Cabinets! I could not be more pleased with my new kitchen! Thanks, Freddy Keilman and Asheville Cabinets!

Freddy came to the house to measure the kitchen and then met with us at his showroom several times before we decided on cabinets and counters for our kitchen/bath remodel.  His prices were lower than the competition, and because of this, we even managed to have silestone counters installed.  He doesn't offer installation himself, but gave us names of some good carpenters who we investigated on
Angie's List and were very happy with.  Whenever we had questions Freddy promptly returned calls and he guided us through the process of kitchen remodeling with humor and good advice.

After moving into a house that was severely lacking in storage, we decided to purchase cabinets for the rec room.  I first researched RTA (ready to assemble) cabinets and while they were cheaper than cabinets at the big-box stores, they didn?t appear to be of the best quality.  Also, it was somewhat of a hassle for direct delivery and, of course, the time to actually assemble them.

I checked Angie?s List for someone local and found that Freddy at Asheville Cabinets had very good reviews.  I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Asheville Cabinets.  I called and made an appointment for my husband and I to meet with Freddy to discuss our needs.  Freddy was very helpful, asked lots of questions, and made good suggestions.  At the exact moment we were to sign the papers, my husband said something like, ?You know, I?d rather have display space as well as storage? so we had to start all over again.  Freddy took it all in stride, he acted professional, and I suggested he should be a marriage counselor since my husband and I could not come to a decision regarding design that we could both agree on.  Freddy prepared at least three different cabinet designs (maybe more) and sent them to us via email.  We decided on a design, negotiated a fair price, Freddy set up the agreement, we signed via email, and the cabinets were ordered.

The cabinets arrived in about a month and Freddy brought them to us promptly.  We had also ordered countertop and I was nervous about measuring the countertops exactly.  Freddy made a special trip to measure the countertop, then went back to his shop, cut the countertops, and brought it to us.  Freddy is not just a few minutes from our house, it is at least a 20-25 minute drive so this was above and beyond customer service.  The countertops fit perfectly!  I really appreciated the extra special attention that Freddy provided.

Within the next couple of months we are planning a small kitchen remodel to add cabinets for a breakfast bar and granite countertops.  I can?t imagine going anywhere else for my next project!

Working with Freddy at Asheville Cabinets was an outstanding experience.    He listened to our needs, understood our financial and design objectives  and, delivered on all of his commitments.   From start to finish his attention to detail and follow up demonstrated exceptional customer service.   Freddy is an experienced designer.  He offered us several options to meet our needs from both a physical design and budget perspective.    During the measurement phase of the project he made several excellent suggestions which resulted in  significant improvements to our original concept.   His suggestions made better use of the space and provided greater functionality.  Once the cabinets were installed Freddy came to the house and measured for the countertops.  The countertops were made , delivered and installed within three days.     If you're looking to do a remodel, getting an estimate from  Freddy, would be time well spent.

We acted as homeowner managers of the project.  There are a lot of moving pieces in the process.  The coordination of the plumber, demolition/installer person, purchasing new appliances, flooring changes,  are all part of a kitchen remodel.   We were grateful for the insights Freddy shared with us based on his project experience.    Working with and purchasing cabinets from Asheville Cabinets was a great experience.

Needing new kitchen and bathroom cabinets and finding how very expensive the big box stores were, I searched for an alternative online and came across Asheville Cabinets which supposedly offered great savings.  Without a lot of hope I went to see what they had to offer and what the prices would be.  I met the owner, Freddy, and found him to be genuinely warm and friendly and extremely knowledgable.   I selected the cabinets I liked and within a few minutes he had done all the calculations on his computer (there was an additional screen so I could see everything he did), designing the kitchen to my complete satisfaction and pricing it.  The price was less that half of what I had expected!   I placed the order and received the cabinets within about three weeks and it would be impossible to be more happy and pleased with the cabinets, Freddy and the whole experience.  I would use him again in a minute and wholeheartedly recommend to Freddy and Asheville Cabinets to anyone who wants excellent service, good quality and choices at a price so very friendly to the pocketbook.

It was great to work with someone so knowledgeable that could guide me through the process, encompassing the strengths of my current kitchen with my wants & budget, not to just sell me cabinets.  I was very impressed with the creativity and level of detail that went into the design process - the options that Freddie came up with were really outstanding and I am sure that he made the best possible use out of my current layout.  He incorporated the good parts of my kitchen with the new additions so that the entire kitchen looks ?new?.  My kitchen was something I had really been struggling with for 7 years and he offered several solid and creative ideas on his first visit.  I thanked Freddie for his help but wanted to let others know that if you need really good ideas and have a seemingly difficult kitchen remodel in mind, you should call him.  He understood my budget and laid out several options.  I?m so pleased with this remodel that I?m already planning to use Asheville Cabinets for a built-in that will occupy a long, empty wall in my kitchen (Freddie?s suggestion).  I couldn?t be more pleased with the entire process and am happy to recommend Asheville Cabinets and Freddie to anyone.

Home was being extensively remodeled beginning in October 2010. One project was the updating of the kitchen and installation of a kitchenette area in a guest cottage. My contractor asked Freddy at Symbiosis to prepare a cabinet design for both the kitchen and guest cottage, based on a 'rudimentary' drawing I had given him. I currently live out of state, so designs were emailed to me for my review. Then, while in town, I met with Freddy and we went over his design. He made great recommendations about work space and was open to my ideas of using lots of drawers (maybe more drawers than a normal person would like!). Along the way, I asked Freddy to order cabinets for the laundry room and ordered a new vanity with sink and countertop for the master bathroom. I met him twice at his studio to pick out cabinet finishes, hardware (including a kitchen sink) and countertop materials. He was very adept at offering opinions and advice without trying to sway me one way or another. He printed out and later emailed me copies of the design plans. Freddy was able to negotiate a higher grade/quality of cabinets from a different cabinetmaker than the one in his original proposal, still at my original budget. Nice! The cabinets arrived on schedule in November, as ordered. In January, as other projects within the house were wrapping up (electrical, drywall, plumbing, flooring), the cabinets were installed, as were the kitchen countertops, the kitchenette area in the guest cottage, the laundry room cabinets and the master bath vanity and countertop. Though installation was handled by a different subcontractor who specializes in that area, it was Freddy's design that worked out perfectly. The cabinets and countertops look beautiful. I can't wait to move into the house and start using them.
