The only real help I got was from Freddy at Asheville Cabinets. I made an appointment with him, and he said he?d do his best. These are the things that Freddy did:
·
He selected a line of cabinets that was likely to fit my budget rather than choose a line that had the bells and whistles I wanted. This meant a limited choice of styles and colors, but gave me what I really wanted--an all plywood cabinet rather than an all particle board cabinet.
·
He looked at each element of the layout, and designed a kitchen that would be easy to use. This involved the addition of several 3? spacing panels, the rearranging of the stove and refrigerator, and the modification of a few of the cabinets. While the overall cabinet space was reduced, the result was a much more enjoyable and functional kitchen. Now the window over the sink was opened up, the cabinet and refrigerator doors opened fully, the cabinet hardware did not bang into each other, the kitchen was better balanced, and the kitchen embraced universal design principles.
·
He was very patient with me. As new-to-me options and construction possibilities were identified, I would change details, such as cabinet configuration or size. This resulted in time consuming refinements and re-dos.
·
He provided excellent customer service. He was prompt in returning designs and quotes. He did not hurry appointments. Samples of cabinet construction, door styles and finishes were easily accessed. Questions were answered honestly. He gave information for ancillary organization, such as how delivery and inspection of cabinets was done. He was disclosing and through.
·
He was well organized. He only accepts residential appointments at certain times, thus he does not over schedule. He successfully wears several hats at a time. Since no one else was in the office at the time of our appointment, he asked if it would be alright if he answered the phone. I was glad of this, since it gave me time for reflection and selection. But most of all, I was glad that he did not miss out on a timely contact. When someone wanted more detail, he did say he was in an appointment and would call back.
Wow! I don?t think I have been this satisfied with a provider for a long time.
Thank you, Freddy!
"Thanks [Member Name Removed], You guys were fun too. I assume the reason you put that you would not hire me again is because we now have a lifelong business arrangement. LOL. Thanks for the kind words."
"Thank you (Member name removed), it was a pleasure working with you! Freddy"

Angie's List and were very happy with. Whenever we had questions Freddy promptly returned calls and he guided us through the process of kitchen remodeling with humor and good advice.

I checked Angie?s List for someone local and found that Freddy at Asheville Cabinets had very good reviews. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Asheville Cabinets. I called and made an appointment for my husband and I to meet with Freddy to discuss our needs. Freddy was very helpful, asked lots of questions, and made good suggestions. At the exact moment we were to sign the papers, my husband said something like, ?You know, I?d rather have display space as well as storage? so we had to start all over again. Freddy took it all in stride, he acted professional, and I suggested he should be a marriage counselor since my husband and I could not come to a decision regarding design that we could both agree on. Freddy prepared at least three different cabinet designs (maybe more) and sent them to us via email. We decided on a design, negotiated a fair price, Freddy set up the agreement, we signed via email, and the cabinets were ordered.
The cabinets arrived in about a month and Freddy brought them to us promptly. We had also ordered countertop and I was nervous about measuring the countertops exactly. Freddy made a special trip to measure the countertop, then went back to his shop, cut the countertops, and brought it to us. Freddy is not just a few minutes from our house, it is at least a 20-25 minute drive so this was above and beyond customer service. The countertops fit perfectly! I really appreciated the extra special attention that Freddy provided.
Within the next couple of months we are planning a small kitchen remodel to add cabinets for a breakfast bar and granite countertops. I can?t imagine going anywhere else for my next project!
We acted as homeowner managers of the project. There are a lot of moving pieces in the process. The coordination of the plumber, demolition/installer person, purchasing new appliances, flooring changes, are all part of a kitchen remodel. We were grateful for the insights Freddy shared with us based on his project experience. Working with and purchasing cabinets from Asheville Cabinets was a great experience.
"Thank you [Member Name Removed]. Installation is very important, and we will recommend many of our client installers."
