Great. The TV was about six years old and was exhibiting "the Samsung reboot problem" that is mentioned on several YouTube videos. I tried some surgery myself (unplugging the Ethernet jack inside the TV) and it seemed to work...for a while. But the problem got worse to the point of making the TV useless. I drove the TV to Ray's shop and dropped it off. It took a little while, and a few follow up phone calls, but Ray fixed it and I'm happy to say it's still working fine, 8 months later. No on/off problems. I will call him again if the need arises. I trust his work.

I received reimbursement for the full fee plus the price of a new TV thinks to Ray. He was so personable and cooperative compared to others. Several refused to even look at it because it was a cheap model. Would use him again in a minute.

it took almost a month to get the part from LG, which was not Ray Sweeney's fault. Once he got the part, he immediately called and scheduled a next day install. He was on time and very professional. I would use him again in the future.

Made the repair in a timely fashion, unit works as well it did when it came out of the box 14 years ago.

Sweeney Electronics is very slow when it comes to getting back to you. They are very busy and it takes almost two weeks just to examine your TV. In addition, you never get to see their repair shop as you drop the TV off at a video transfer shop which made me feel very uncomfortable. There is a $132.50 charge just to have your TV looked at, however, it is applied to the total cost of your repair. The original estimate before looking at the TV but based on my description of the problem was between a $200.00-$400.00 repair. Of course my repair was a total of $575.00 but it was a 55" Vizio HD LCD TV which was 4 years old. The repair was performed and the tv has been working, I only got it back 10 days ago. Overall, the options for TV repair are limited. Ray was professional and polite, but he is very busy and the cost was very high. I guess I was just unlucky that it cost so much to repair my set, but I hated to throw away a $1800.00 television (retail cost 4 years ago). Ray did keep me informed during the repair process and other than the cost, the experience was fair, a c+ or B- at best. I would have preferred to see the TV repair shop and also to have been able to plug in the TV and see it working before paying for the set. The TV is working well, and the work was completed as promised.

"[removed member name] brought in a product that was damaged by lightning during the busiest time of the year. The customer was advised in writing and verbally about the diagnosis fees before he brought the unit in for service. The customer was also advised that this manufacturer does not offer after sales support to independent service centers and the customer was advised that a lack of support could result in repair delays, costly replacement parts, or part availability issues. Upon completion of the evaluation and locating replacement parts, Mr. Sauer was provided verbal and written estimates for the repair costs. We do not support Mr. Sauer's statement that he was quoted a repair cost of $200 to $400 before he brought the unit in for service since we have no way of establishing a repair cost until we properly diagnose the unit and determine part(s) cost and availability. Mr. Sauer also delayed approving the estimate because he was attempting to submit a claim for reimbursement through his cable service provider since the surge damage happened as a result of a cable box and ground defect. I exchanged eighteen e-mails + numerous phone calls with Mr. Sauer in hopes of helping him to receive compensation from his cable service provider as well as resolving this as expeditiously as possible. I also spent considerable time with Mr. Sauer, explaining how he can have Comcast correct the grounding issues to prevent future repair expenses on his part. Mr. Sauer neglected to mention this in his online review. Our company was established in 1990 and since 2007, our drop-off location, Astera Video, on DeKalb Pike/Route 202, serves as our drop off location for customers who choose to avoid in home service fees and drop units off for service. Units are triaged at the drop off location and complex repairs such as Mr. Sauer’s are transferred to our home office service center in King of Prussia. We are happy to allow our customers to plug in the unit and test it before picking it up."

I was happy with the service that they gave, they were prompt, polite, they fixed the problem and actually they went a step forward to help me, an old lady, to get the system set up. They were responsive.

I was having an intermittent bar appear on my plasma TV. Spoke to Ray about the problem and he seemed confident he'd be able to diagnose it. Told me the price for pick up, diagnosis and delivery was a flat $150. We agreed and he scheduled a time to come out. He called me just before he was about to arrive as I had asked. He said it would be about a week before he would be able to look at it in the shop. Eight days later he called to tell me that the TV was unrepairable. Some of the cables that affix to the screen had become brittle over the years (Plasma TVs run very hot). Given it's age, if we could even find part, it would cost much more to fix than it would to buy a new unit. Ray spoke with me for several minutes providing some great advice on what I should look for in a new unit.  He even emailed me a link to a great website with lots of valuable information.

Overall, working with Sweeney Electronics was great. I'd definitely recommend them. Only reason for "B" on responsiveness was it took about a week to schedule the return of the unit once we decided not to go forward with repairs. Since the new TV I was buying woudn't be in for a month and the problem with the old TV was very intermittent, I wanted to use the old box until my new one arrived. Probably took about four days for him to return my call. But, he did explain he was getting ready for business trip and working long hours to get a lot of stuff cleared up before he went. Understandable.

I wish he could have repaired it, but it is an older unit and had served it's purpose.

Ray Sweeney and I played telephone tag for awhile. But when we touched base he explained exactly what he thought might be the problem and how much everything could cost right up front. He also was happy to answer all my questions. It was easy to make an appointment as he said he would call my cell phone so I did not have to stay home for hours to wait for him. This was huge! Would highly recommend him.

The television purchased there was one that a customer left for repairs and did not pick it up. It was still there after 30 years days and I bargained with them and purchased the television. They also repair 52 inch televisions. I took a Sony walk man there years ago and they did a bang up job. The repair person there is a licensed service provider for a number of companies. I spent about $60 the last time I used their service. They take a deposit on a repair and then call and give me an estimate of what it is going to cost and I can yes or no. Their billing and paper work is all professional. Anything that I had repaired by them has never had a problem again. I gave him the wrong cell phone number and he went back to my records and found my landline number and that impressed me. The turnaround on the work is about 10 days, unless there is a problem. They will follow-up if the work is going to be delayed or if it is taking a while to get the part.
