He did the work as outlined in his proposal and we paid with our credit card while we were away. He told us on the phone if anything was not to our complete satisfaction he would come back and correct. There were some minor items such as puddling of the finish in certain areas that needed some followup. We called on three separate occasions and made an appointment for him to come back , but he never showed up. The last time I called and left a message he didn't bother to call back. This is disappointing because overall he did a good job.

James did an excellent job. The floors in our house were not continuous (different hardwood flooring in living room vs other areas), and there were old pet stains in the entry. James refinished the floors, removing the raised threshold transition between the two different wood floors and making it a continuous transition. He installed flush-mount air vents and was able to completely remove the pet stains. The floors look wonderful, and I love that they look like one continuous floor. The process truly was dust-free...not a speck. I would highly recommend Southern Hardwood!

James showed up early each day and worked hard all day. The floors look fantastic. These guys are perfectionists and it shows in the details of the work. They actually finished a few days ahead of schedule. When is the last time you met a contractor that finished on time much less early? I would recommend this firm to anyone

Owner of the company did the work himself. It was pretty much a dust-free operation. He was conscious.

With the exception of a miscommunication of the area to be done (I meant to have the staircasse and landing done which was not included in the original estimate) everything went well. The house was a vacant rental property and they were able to work it in between other jobs so I could get it back on the market.

The floors were in awful shape and the topnailing seemed to pose more of a problem for other contractors than it did for Southern Hardwoods. They ran into one area that had been recoated with something (maybe additional stain and then wax) which slowed things down and did have to do additional coats on the staircase which did not want to dry smoothly.

They were responsive to any problems and came back for touchups. My neighbors were impressed and have their floors scheduled for next week.

It was amazing how little dust they created.

Several Floor Companies we contacted had minimum charges of as much as $900 for flooring work. We contacted Southern Hardwood Flooring and James Haga, the owner, promptly came out and gave us an estimate for the work. He was professional, courteous. and instilled confidence in us that he could restore our floor to the original condition. He worked us into his busy schedule, scheduled the work and showed up on time. The flooring was replaced and refinished to our satisfaction and one would never suspect the floor has been repaired.
