The team at J&D Tree Pro's were curtious, proffesional, and prompt. I would recommend them if you need to have any tree removal performed. They were able to get two tree's that fell in my yard within 24 hours. They also cleaned up the debris that had fallen due to the storm.

They were great, once I got them to come out and do an estimate. It took a few phone calls to get the estimate arranged. Price was high, but probably reasonable all things considered. They were fully bonded and insured (a must requirement for me for this type of work) and were willing to provide verifiable insurance certificates another must requirement for me for this type of work.

This is our second time using JD Tree Pros.  We called right before Christmas to a quote performed.  Due to scheduling conflicts and weather we didn't get a quote until after the New Year holiday.  Dan came out and we showed him what we wanted done.  Dan also walked around with us and pointed out a few problem trees and other recommended improvements.  He provided us with a detailed quote with different aspects of the job broken out so we could choose what we wanted done.  We elected to go for the whole ball of wax.  When we called to schedule the job, we were told there would be about a 5 week delay due  to a heavy workload.  We were pleasantly surprised a week later when they called and said they would be coming the next week.  They allocated two whole crews for the job.  It was amazing watching them work.  Our whole property was buzzing with activity.  They were taking trees down in multiple parts of the yard and all the while a roaming stump grinder was deep grinding stumps below ground level.  We were not required to be onsite during their work which suited our needs.  They finished the work in two days and the area was cleaned quite nicely.  Two trees were missed, but JD returned quickly (i.e. next day) and removed the two missed trees to finish the job.
We are extremely happy with the work that was done.  We are still trying to get used to the new open feeling of our yard.  An electronic invoice was received a few days later and we had the choice of paying by check or electronic bank transfer.  Nice.  JD Tree Pros is highly recommended.

This was our 3rd time using them, and each time they've been friendly and courteous as well as efficient. They do a great job taking the trees down and are careful to lay down boards and avoid any damage. Our trees ranged from 40ft sweetgums to a ~50ft oak tree, and these were close to the house. Everyone, from the estimators (which includes the owner, Dan), to the crane operator to the woodchip grinder operator were highly knowledgeable about the trees. They even, without me asking, helped prune some cedar branches that were dangling from the ice storm months ago.
They are also available for a really fair price - I had 3 other quotes for more and were from seemingly less knowledgeable companies (or at least their estimators were less knowledgeable).
Highly recommend them.

It's not often that I am satisfied with any product or service. Dan and his crews have done an incredible job multiple times including a crane job removing a massive damaged oak that was within 15 feet of my house.

The crew did a great job. The foreman communicated with me very well as the job went along. When they finished the tree work, they blew debris and leaves off the entire yard, not just where they had worked!
I have used this company several times in the past and I have always been very pleased with the work they have done. I used to be nervous when I had tree work done, but when I use J and D Tree Pros, I am relaxed because I know my yard and home are in good hands.I recommend them very highly.

Will called me before showing, then arrived right on time. Did a fantastic job of grinding the stumps without severing several buried lines. Many surface roots that he took care of as well as some stumps.
Great cleanup afterwards, and was kind enough to talk to me about some tree maintenance while he was finishing up. I found my new tree management service.

Jand D did an excellent job. They were careful but fast and took care of business. I watched spellbound for 7 hours as these men did an unbelievable job of cutting down this huge tree. The margin for error was thin and there were no errors. There were narrow confines to place the extremely heavy wood and they did it so well. They were a focused team who knew their jobs and did them. It was a pleasure for me to chat with some of the guys when they had the time. Watching them was a day well spent.

Jand D is our go-to company for tree service. We've used them twice before fort tree removal, and did not hesitate to call them again. They came out promptly to provide the estimate, provided expert advice on the work to be done and even provided an opinion on trimming a tree that I was going to do myself. These guys are true professionals - they work safely, neatly and efficiently - they even raked up all the leaves from the tree they took down. I will definitely use their services again if needed.

Five men completed the entire removal job in about 4 hours. Their crane was able to lift the crowns and trunks of the trees cleanly above other very tall trees in my front yard. The total lift had to be well over 100 feet. The stump grinding was done in the morning of the next day. All of the men were very professional. They also cut down one small tree near the end of my driveway, and made several cuts through a nearby brushpile to compact it at no extra charge. As with my job in October, they placed large pieces of plywood with timbers on top of them on my lawn to prevent any damage from the crane's outriggers. They blew the street, my lawn, driveway and walkways free of all leaves and debris. The equipment used included their large crane, a log-hauling truck with its own crane, and a large heavy-duty chipper to handle branches up to 6-8' in diameter. Their website video of their crane working to remove a huge pine, and their previous job for me in October, 2012 convinced me that they can handle the toughest jobs safely and efficiently.

The J in Jand D actually came out and did the appraisal himself. It was late by the time he got to our house but he took his time and explained exactly what he was looking at and why. He then looked at all the rest of the trees in our backyard, told us what types of trees they were and what he would do with them.
At the end of the day he recommended we do nothing. We received another, expensive, estimate from a well known tree company to spray pesticide and put down fertilizer. It was definitely in his best interest to recommend a treatment to a couple of clueless homeowners but instead he spent a bunch of time with us for free and told us we didn't need anything.
I don't think J and D is the cheapest around, but I would go back to them for any tree removal needs I had int he future regardless of price due to the honesty and explanation I received during the estimate. I feel confident they are looking out for their customers.
My only negative comment is that they were late in coming out for the estimate and rescheduled a couple of times, but they did apologize and it was well worth it.

Five men completed the entire removal job in about 3-1/2 hours. Their crane was able to lift the crowns and trunks of the trees cleanly above other very tall trees in my front yard. The total lift had to be well over 100 feet. The stump grinding of the 37and quot; diameter stump was done the next day in the morning. The cost of that was included in my quote. All of the men were very professional, and each one separately asked me if I was satisfied with the work and whether there was anything else that they needed to do. John McMains, co-owner of the firm, was here during the job. They also cut down and removed two small trees adjacent to my driveway at no extra charge. Large pieces of plywood with timbers on top of them were laid down on my lawn and prevented any damage from the crane's outriggers. They blew the street, my driveway, walkways, front porch, and even my rear deck free of all leaves, and debris. The equipment used included a log hauling truck with its own crane, and a large heavy duty chipper to handle branches up to 6-8and quot; in diameter. Jand D's website ( www.jdtreepros.com) has a video of their crane working to removing a huge pine, which is very convincing that they can handle the toughest jobs safely and efficiently.

Dan, one of the owners of the company, came out to provide us an estimate for removing 14 large (60'+) pine trees. Four of the trees were behind the house and inaccessible from either side of the property. Additionally, two of the tress in the front yard were on top of the water and electrical service to the house. All trees were within easy reach of the house providing for minimal working room. Dan clearly explained the tree removal process using a crane and provided a very competitive service quote. His team arrived on time on the day stated and completed the job on the same day despite intermittent rain showers. Use of the crane allowed the job to be completed in 1 day instead of 3-4 days and prevented damage to the yard and service lines. The work area was well cleaned and left in better condition than prior to start of the job. The street was even leaf-blown to make sure all debris was removed. Disruption to the neighbors was minimal, especially with the short duration of the job. Even with the size of the crane no equipment was ever placed on our property and even the garbage trucks were able to get down the street the way they had the crane tucked off to the side. I would highly recommend Jand D Tree for any tree removal service and give high marks for the level of professionalism, safety, and efficiency of the team.

They are great people in terms of taking care of the trees. They're also careful enough to leave everything else alone. They didn't tear up the yard to take the trees out, and didn't damage any of the other trees or plants on our property. We were very satisfied with the price and the work performed.

I like the fact that they used a large crane to remove the trees from behind our house because they couldn't get back to the area. They were responsive and punctual.
