Craig did an outstanding job.  He was highly professional and competent.  I would recommend him to any friend or neighbor in need of roof repair or replacement.

As noted, the job started on time and was completed on time. Craig used a crew of 3 to remove and install the new roof. The total job was completed in one day's time, starting late morning and finishing the next morning. There were no additional charges and all work performed was in line with the original quotation.The roof has been in place for 6 months and we have had no issues.

I called several other contractors to get an estimate on my leaking soffit, gutter/roof problem and would only get vauge pricing quotes and people saying "I could be opening up a can of worms---it might cost alot more once we start".  I then called Craig Hilliard and he called me back within an hour.  I have worked with Craig on two different roof replacements in the past.  His pricing has always been reasonable and his crew creates a beautiful finished product.  I never feel like I am going to get ripped off because Craig is a man of his word.  He does what he says he is going to do, does it at a fair price and actually returns calls!.  He and his crew removed the old gutters, replaced all of the rotten wood and had the expertise to diagnose what had caused the problem.  They then added drip edge to the existing roof and had a subcontractor come out and replace the seamless gutter with upgraded gutters with larger downspouts for better flow.  The new gutters are now tucked into my new drip edge to make sure the water from the roof makes it into my gutters instead of dribbling down the side of my house and rotting the wood.  I got my quote on Friday and they did the work on Monday.  The gutters were installed by Wednesday. Super happy to look at my house and see nice solid wood again!  The gutters look great as well.  Working with Craig is like having and old friend come over to the house!

I have used Hilliard Construction on 3 different occasions. All have been positive. Yesterday (11/2/2011) Craig came out to give me an estimate for a new roof. When he arrived, exactly when he said he would, I told him I had a roof leak, and that my roof was 15 years old. I showed him where I thought the leak might be. After inspecting the place, he said he didn't think that was the spot. Then he said that I did NOT need a new roof. The roof I had was good a few more years. Then we went to a spot where I had had someone else try to repair the leak - and didn't. He identified where the real problem was, and then he fixed it right then and there. All this took about 90 minutes. This is the 2nd time Craig fixed a leak on short notice. Both times he charged very reasonable fees. I have recommended Hilliard Construction to others, and will continue to do so. In a few years when I DO need a new roof, Craig will get the call.

It was a good experience, and we were satisfied with them. The work went well. The price and quality were good. I would recommend them and would use them again in the future if necessary.

Getting the estimate: I contacted Craig Hilliard by phone and left a message. He contacted me later that day and offered to come out on the next day (Saturday) to look at the roof and give us an estimate. Due to the pending bad weather, we agreed to be in touch early the following week. Monday it snowed. Craig contacted me Tuesday and came out that afternoon. He thoroughly went through the estimate with us. He was very easy to talk to and took the time to answer our questions. His estimate of $6200 was about $2600 less than the next lowest estimate and $4700 less than the thrid estimate. Scheduling the work: The following Tuesday, after we decided to go with Hilliard Construction, I contacted Craig to discuss two additional items: using 30 lb felt (instead of the 15 lb in the estimate) and adding drip edging. Not a problem. Craig had an opening the following week and he estimated that with his crew of 5, the work would take 1 day. Doing the work: The Craig Hilliard and crew showed up at the house at about 8:30 and immediatedly went to work. While some covered plants and shrubs, others set up ladders and equipment. As some of the crew loosened the old shingles, others pulled them up by hand and stacked them so they could minimize debris in the yard. I was impressed with how efficient they were - you could tell they know what they were doing. By the time I returned home at 4:30, the crew was nearly done with the entire roof. By about 5:30 the crew was picking up all the loose debris around the yard. The new shingles and the sky lights look fantastic and the workman ship was great. Craig Hilliard took me around to show me the work and to look for anything that needed attention. He spotted a small place where the drip edging was missing - and a couple of guys from the crew were there to fix it the next day. We were very pleased with the re-roofing job Craig and his crew did on our house.

They did an outstanding job! The roof looks great but it was their professionalism that really stood out. This was not an easy job with a quick decision and turnaround. My husband wanted a new roof. I wanted a new roof that was energy efficient, environmentally friendly and looked good. After several months and lots of research into different roofing products we decided on an Energy Star certified metal roof because it did well in every category. We chose Hilliard Construction because of great recommendations from a customer and a wholesale company that sells roofing materials in this area. Craig and his crew were even better than we had been told. He brought sample after sample while we were making our selection and answered all of our questions. While they were working on our roof, he and his crew cleaned everything up each day, including using a metal detector to find nails. They started and finished the job when they promised. We highly recommend Hilliard Construction.
