About us
My name is Alan and my company is EarthSafeSolutions. I am a registered Landscape Contractor. Being environmentally aware all of my life, I saw a great opportunity to apply green principles to landscaping when I started 11 years ago. Some of these would include planting native species grown in local nurseries who use drip irrigation for water conservation. Disease tolerant plants should be planted so as to reduce the use of fungicides/insecticides. We dispose of debris in landfills that recycle the organic waste into mulches that are resold. There are many more areas where Earth Safe Solutions implements green practices to protect the environment and i hope that you will give us a try.

He was an excellent young man. He did a beautiful job. He'll be coming back to do some more. It still looks great. It's starting to grow a little bit more. He'll call me and he's going to come. I told him I'd like him to come back and trim some more shrubs in my backyard. He just took a little bit of that and took that away. Whatever he cuts off he carries away. He cleans it up; he & the 2 men that work for him. He used the same 2 men when he needs the help but I don't think he uses them at every single job; only when he needs them I think. He's a small operation and he's a Veteran, which I'm thrilled with. He was in the Marines. I was very happy with him.

They did a great job, they were a little slow with the work but I had no problem with it and they did stay a little longer to finish up what they were doing. They didn't charge me extra for staying a bit longer.

Alan and his crew were very punctual and worked steadily for several hours before the rain moved in. They accomplished a lot in the time they had. Will be coming back next week to finish trimming and distributing mulch I am having delivered.

It was a pleasure dealing with Alan Hinson from start to finish. He and his assistant arrived on time, and spent around 4 hours here cleaning up our grounds. He seemed very interested in making sure we got our money's worth, and in doing a thorough job. He also answered my questions about how to improve our lawn and control weeds without harmful chemicals, and offered to do some research on weed control. He will be sending me information on options for improving our lawn, and I am definitely wanting to use his service for our lawn care in the future.
I am amazed at how beautiful our grounds look now, and at how much they gave us for their very reasonable fee.

I had Alan come out for a free estimate and then for the work we discussed during the estimate. He trimmed trees, bushes, and shrubs in my front and back yard, cut back a couple trees that were too big, and removed some dead plants. He also cleared the leftover leaves and threw some seed down in my back yard to see if it would take (I have a few bare spots in an area that water tends to pool in). I've also had Alan back to mulch and mow a few times after my mower broke.
He does exactly what's agreed upon and is normally right on the dollar with his estimates. He does have an assistant that will work with him. They're quick and leave the yard clean of debris (other than grass clippings). The value for the work they do is very good. I was looking for an honest landscaper that wouldn't take advantage of my lack of knowledge about landscaping and lawn work, and would provide me with a good value for the work performed. I found exactly that with Earth Safe Solutions!

Alan was great. He was punctual, professional and did an excellent job. He used a dark mulch that would last me a longer period of time, and made my beds look beautiful! I especially appreciated all the hard work he did in cutting back the ivy, because I started it myself and it was just too difficult. Now it looks beautiful! I live in a townhouse and my next-door neighbors are trying to sell their home. Now I feel like any prospective buyers will look more favorably on their property because of the great job Alan did on ours.

Alan was very prompt in responding to my e-mail inquiry. He gave me reasonable quote for the work and we scheduled the work. On the work day, he was running late but kept me informed about his arrival. I asked him to pick up a bag of compost and he agreed without excuses. After his arrival, I explained the work to him. I wanted to plan 8 bareroot roses in the backyard, where it was sodded. He promptly got to work. He made sure to plant them at appropriate depth and at equal distance. He readily made the changes as I suggested. He was friendly. He gave me few pointers/tips regarding other problematic areas in the yard. Overall, he was very nice to work with and I would hire him again for other landscaping work.

Alan continues to do excellent work for me. He initially (sometime last year) cleared out my entire back yard, which had not had any work done in 13 years -- it was a forest by this time. He and his helper worked very quickly and took care of all the hauling. It was done in a day, something of a miracle. He has continued to care for my front yard, which has a lot of hardwoods and many shrubs and perennials, but without lawn, so weeds are a constant worry. On his last visit, he put the perennial garden "to sleep" for the winter, which meant pruning a 40' by 10' garden to the ground and disposing of the waste. He also cleared the gutters and they blew the leaves to the curb before mulching the garden. I'm pleased to have someone with training handling the plants, which have taken about 14 years to get established. Alan keeps in good touch and is always very responsive. I highly recommend his services.

Alan scheduled the service in a very timely manner and arrived at the set time on the agreed upon date. He trimmed and shaped all the shrubs that I requested and did a great job. Attention to detail was top notch. Would definitely use him again.

It took a very long time from first contact to project completion. We were happy with the backyard clear and sod lay but the patio didnt turn out as well as we hoped. We had to purchase sod and pavers separately directly from the suppliers. Ok if you are looking for low cost landscaping labor but we would not recommend having a patio done. It did not turn out well .. its not as level as it should have been.

"It was a surprise to see this comment because nothing was said to us while we were there. I asked if he was satisfied with the project and he said everything was fine. The patio could not be laid to a true level because it was in a hole / depression next to the house. The concrete slab that the screened in porch was on was poured on a slight incline as well so the pavers had to be laid to the same incline as the slab to allow for water drainage away from the house. I brought [member name removed] out several times to look at how the patio was being laid and explained that what we were laying the pavers up against was on a slight incline and that would be how the pavers would have to be to allow for water drainage away from the house so it would not rot the wood. The grout lines for the pavers were straight and it was smooth across the top. At no time during this process was any dissatisfaction expressed and I believe the low budget landscaping comment is truly unwarranted and uncalled for."

It was good and we were very happy with their work. They did a very good job. They offered to provide maintenance services to keep the yard looking good. The walkway is really good. We were very satisfied. We didn't compare their prices but it was worthwhile.

We've had Alan to our place twice this year, once in the spring and once this Fall. We have been very pleased with the work he has performed. I called several landscaping companies to quote on a couple of days of work we needed this spring to clear out debris and old trees, trim all hedges, bring in some garden soil, much the entire yard, etc. Alan was the most responsive of the 8 or more companies we called and he promised a better value. We were not dissapointed and Alan and crew worked hard to make the whole yard very beautiful in a couple of days of work for 2-3 people. All hauling fees were included in the quote and there were no surprises.
Again, the fall we had Alan back and he performed similar tasks a single day, beautifying the yard and reseeding the lawn. We really appreciate the great work and value that Alan now provides us seasonally.

We are in the process of restoring a home and yard that have been vacant for approximately 3 years and has had little or no maintenance. The lot is a 1/2 acre and is heavily forested. The leaves have not been cleared from much of the yard during that entire time, and basically the landscape is overgrown with ivy and wild vines from the neighbors that have destroyed the landscaping making the clean-up job even worse. To top it off, the upper part of the yard in the front is on a hill and the back has a steep slope down to a flat yard space. We hired Alan to start with the general clean-up of the leaves because we discovered it was a much bigger job than our hand-held, non-professional leaf blower could begin to handle. Alan mulched the leaves and then we decided which portion of the yard we were going to use to compost the leaves. Alan even blew the leaves from the roof of the house, the deck, under deck porch as well as the yard and steep slope. He took into consideration the areas of the yard that could use the mulched leaves to control erosion and to also direct the water flow down the hillside and away from the house. He was prompt and professional and started the next day. He finished the job in the time specified without a long term commitment contract. He is willing to continue to work with us in not only maintaining the yard, but as the funds are available, he will continue to do various projects as we continue the restoration of our property. We are very pleased with the work that he did. He knows his plants, he is aware of issues like erosion and soil management, and very importantly he prefers not to use chemicals which we appreciate since our property drains to a large stream.
