Work went well, however some delays and Mr Erb tried to nickel and dime me for things that the inspectors had him correct ( such a additional fireblock). Overall I was pleased with the job, however there were days that past with no progress being made. That was somewhat annoying!

Wayne and his crew did a wonderful job. They worked every day till the job was complete. Looks beautiful.

In the beginning the challanges came with communication, Wayne the owner was very vaige about the particulars of the project, so I wrote up a contract detailing all that was to be done for the quoted price (which I recomend to anyone). One clause that I put in the contract was and quot;for any additional cost above what was quoted to be approved by owner priorand quot;. This was the main area that was not communicated to me and intitiated alot of frustration and debate. All in all Centris Construction did a great job, however communication could have been much better during the project.
As far as the electrical portion, be very detailed and specific as to what is included in the price and what additional options will cost (i.e. witing speakers, connection terminations for sound etc.). Although they would wire these things for me, they did notreveal the price until i received the invoice (I thought it was included), however because I believed the contractor should have communicated this when i requested the services. This was my main area of disatisfaction with this entire project and I explained to the contractor and quot;this is like going to the grocery store and not knowing the price of your selections until you get to the check-outand quot;.
Word to the wise.......BE SPECIFIC, BE DETAILED.....PUT IT IN THE CONTRACT AND STICK TO IT!!!!!!
If you do desire extras, have the detaild work quoted and wirte a change order and sign.

The project started out great and went quickly. The basic work appears to be good quality. The first communication issue was when the fiberglass tub/shower was ordered and delivered without us having any input on color/features/etc. The next issue was when we had a cost update and were told the shingles we had specified were about $1000 more than the estimate (after the roof was done) - if we had been told that we probably would have chosen different shingles. Trim paint was the wrong color and we had to insist it be redone - which it was. The cork floating floors were installed before painting and after the painting was done, left uncovered for about 3 weeks. Some items were stained differently than what we specified - it would have been easy to do a test board for our approval. The punch list was extensive. Maybe we were naive - we had never done a construction project anywhere near this size before. Turned out the allowances were not really useful - we didn't have enough detail to know if the (higher) final costs were reasonable. In the end the contractor replaced some of the damaged floor tiles and added a final finish coat because of the wear on them during construction. In the end we are satisfied but it took about 8 weeks longer than the original estimate of 12 weeks because of trying to get the details and floor finished. From our perspective, there were alot of final issues that could have been avoided with better communication and confirmation of things along the away.

Wayne Centris, owner, and his entire crew were very reliable. They showed up on time daily, where pleasant and kept a neat work area. The cost was very reasonable. We did get estimates on all projects and Wayne always gavethe best price and (did) great quality work.

They did an excellent job of cleaning up at the end of each day. They also arrived promptly in the morning and worked all day. We gave him a general idea of what we wanted and he designed something nice. The cost of some of the things we added during construction was not revealed until the end. We added skylights, french doors, painting and railing. Windows installed were vinyl and not wood frame. We did not specify beforehand, but they do not match the rest of our windows.
