Doesn't work. Already wrote a complaint to Angie's list which they ignored.

I gave them a list of items to do, and they went for the easiest items first instead of my top priority. Also, I asked them for a quote to finish the work but I never received that.

Instead of being two hours of service, they announced to me when they arrived at our house that it was actually one hour with two people; I wish they would have told us that in advance and we would have planned differently.  And in that one hour, one guy stood around watching/directing the other guy to do the work (I didn't see him actually do anything in the hour), and so we do not feel that we got what we paid for.  On top of that, they botched the wiring, with no offer to stay or come back to fix it, so we had to pay someone else to come and do it. The guys, however, were friendly and gave us some useful advice on some lighting design, and they did not leave a mess from their service.

"Hi [member name removed], I am sorry you feel like you didn't get your money's worth. It does clearly state what the man hours on Angies list rules when you purchase the bid deal. Besides all that, I would be more than happy to make it up to you. Please give me a call and I'll see what I could do for you. 919-697-3052. I am no longer with Angies list so now I have more control of the deals that's given to my customers. Feel free to check out tlrelectric.com for our deal days. We also have something for father's day. Sorry for the inconceivable Tony TLR Electric"

It was alright. I used them within the month of scheduling the service. I spent another $150 in addition to the deal amount. We had some wiring done to put in some exterior outlets, they changed some exterior fixtures and installed some lights. It was our first time using them. I wouldn't use them again. He was on a phone and took a lot longer than expected. I had to go out several times to check on him. He was smoking and on his phone quite a bit.

"Hi [removed member name], THIS is Tony with TLR Electric. I don't remember working on your house. I also live in North Carolina and I don't smoke. I know it wasn't any of my employees because I don't have any. I feel like you've reviewed the wrong person. Feel free to contact me about this. Thank you for your time."

The provider changed several exterior flood/spot light bulbs. He did not repair the ceiling light in our garage, claiming that he needed to get a new ballast and charge us for extra labor as well. We agreed to pay for the ballast, but not for extra labor - he was aware of the issue in advance of arriving and should have either had the part with him or go out and get it (we learned that it was a common part). After months of avoidance, working through Angie's List complaint resolution team, TLR had the nerve to ask us for the part # of the ballast to replace. Then later for the size of the bulbs in the fixture. Really??? TLR was supposed to be the professional. We subsequently hired another company to complete the work which they did 3 days later.

I called him when I realized that the landscapers had accidentally cut the wire, and Tony came within the hour to access the job.  He came back 2 hours later with all the necessary supplies and spliced the wires back together again. We did not have an appointment since this was unexpected, and yet he made me a priority and fixed the problem the same day. I appreciate how he worked me into his day when I needed help!

I  paid for 2 hrs of work and got about 1 hr. He complained that Angies List takes a large portion of the money collected and I guess that's why he left without removing the inoperable fan.
Response from TLR Electric
"I definitely would have taken the fan down if you had requested it, but because it was an older outdoor fan, it wouldn't have been safe to leave exposed wires outside. You paid 99 for 2 hours, but you only had an hour's worth of work for me to do. I noticed you have me a C for punctuality. I'm a little confused because I gave you a timeframe of 10 12 and I arrived about 10 minutes after 10."

Only one issue.  Tony knew his stuff, handling the wires without turning off the electricity or using gloves.  He fixed everything I asked to have fixed.  He swapped out one outlet rather than removing a plastic piece stuck in it and said he should replace a light fixture when all I needed to have done was remove a broken bulb, which I stuck too.  I am accustomed to upselling services so that's not that big a deal.  But because he has to go buy some of the outlets, he charged $25 for gas.  This was for a relatively short trip that IRS mileage rates would have allowed only $6 for.   So I felt he took advantage, which is why I cannot recommend is service.
