I have a Mercury 60 HP 4-stroke motor covered under warranty. I live in Hamilton, MT. I was away from home on Noxon Reservoir in Trout Creek, Mt when the motor quit. I went to S&S Sports new location in Thompson Falls, MT, 25 miles away on a Saturday. They immediately hooked up the motor and checked it, telling me the regulator was out. They did not have the part on hand. They did not even charge me for the diagnosis!!
I returned to Hamilton, MT. (160 miles away) I called a local Missoula dealer who is 50 miles away and was told to just drop the boat off and maybe they could get to in about 3 weeks, maybe longer. They said everyone wanted what they couldn't have. Their attitude was to me, really p*** poor and it seemed they didn't care about me at all.
 Because I was treated so well at S&S in Thompson, MT, I called and they referred me to their main store in Ronan, MT. (only 100 miles away) I talked to their service manager Jake, and he was extremely helpful. I explained my concerns about the Missoula dealer. I also told him that the store they have in Thompson Falls had diagnosed the problem. He called them to verify and then called me and said he would get the part on order.
When the part arrived, Jake called me and we set an appointment. I drove the 100 miles to their store, and as soon as I arrived, they took the boat in and fixed the problem for me. The repairs were finished in an hour! I then hooked up and returned home.
This is the true meaning of service. I will take my boat back there from now on. Even though it is twice the distance, it is well worth it to be treated fairly. I have already told several friends about the great way I was treated. I will tell many more.
