We have used Hotchkiss Heating & Air multiple times for multiple services. We have always been given professional, honest, accurate assessment and recommendations. Once we had a furnace issue, we got one previous estimate before having having Hotchkiss give a quote. The previous company insisted that our only option was to.completely replace our entire furnace, which was going to cost over $3000. Also, we would have to go without a furnace for up to a week, while we waited for the replacement to come. In the interim, we contacted Hotchkiss, who immediately sent an employee right over to see if they would be able to replace it quicker. The technician easily determined that our furnace did NOT need to be replaced at all. In fact, it was a simple solution replacing a small part. They were able to change out the part, On the spot, And our total bill came to $75. Since that day, we have never considered contacting any other businnes for our heating and air needs. We are customers of Hotchkiss Heating & Air as long as we reside in their service area. We are always consistently, impressed by all aspects of our dealings with them. They are professional, respond very rapidly, and we know we can always trust that they dont overcharge us or give us inaccurate assessments of our issues. We would highly recommend this business every time.

Phenomenally . There is no better group for a reasonable price in Missoula. My old garage heater had a broken fan that no one could find a replacement part for. I checked around locally for a new unit installed -Hot Dawg heater. I had checked out the specs before hand. First I really wanted to know whther the old heater was salvageable, The estimates I got ranged from $1900 to $3000. I checked the price for the unit on Amazon, and it was around $650. So the prices were totally disproportionate to the job. So I decided to order the unit fromm Amazon and them get a local installer. I had an installer lined up and then he had a family emergency and he disappeared. Missoula has a huge number of HVAC people . I made a list and started at the top. Many refused to assess or work on the old unit period. Many others were insistent that I send my unit back to Amazon and buy the identical unit from them. They had all sorts of reasons that they would not install the new unit. Like couldn't warentee goods they didn't buy ( Total BS as Hot Dawg has the warentee.) They merely had to warentee their own workmanship. Real reason --greed - esp Tempright who I will never use again$$$$$$$$$. I was about to give up when Hotchkiss came up on my list. They sent a service man straight out. (I had been heating the garage and water tank in there with very pricey electric heaters. ) He carefully went through the old unit and then said he had been in the business 10 yrs and couldn't feel safe with working on the old unit. He did try but there were no wiring diagrams available anywhere. He felt the Hot Dawg was a much better bet and much higher in efficiency and I should just trash the old unit and put in the new one I had. He called his boss and explained the situation. Then I talked to the boss. He suggested he send out his installation crew and they would install the Hot Dawg and get all the conversion parts and charge me $550 and not charge me for the service call. (It should have been atleast $150). 2 days later, Christmas eve, his crew was there. There were knowledgeable, polite, responsive and responsible. In under 3 hours, the old unit was out. They had all the conversion parts to fit the gas line and the chimney and securely mounted it, got it going and checked everything. Total time for 2 guys was about 3 hours. They even hauled away the old unit. I can't praise this company enough for their honesty, respectfulness and interity and very reason price for services rendered. Please use Hotchkiss so they stay in business. We need more companies like them.

They had to use chains to get up my driveway due to the snow, and they billed me for all the time they spent doing so, but their hourly rate is extremely competitive with everyone else in town. The owner/main technician, David Hotchkiss, is fairly easy to reach. I always request him, but he's not always available to do the work himself. On one job, he refused to bill me until my issue had been completely diagnosed and corrected, which, to me, shows a lot of integrity. They've always done good work for me, they're accessible, and I trust them. I would recommend them to others.
