rPeople warned me about how Garden City was a ripoff, but I didn't listen unfortunately.  But it's true.  Had a thermacouple go out on a gas furnace.  Called Garden City and they took 2 days to make an appointment.  When they looked at the furnace they told me that the thermacouple couldn't be replaced and I'd need a new furnace for $4000.  And then charged me $141 for this useless advice.  When I had a reputable company (GPM )come the next day, they ordered the part and replaced it two days later for less than half of what Garden City charged for doing nothing. I don't know how Garden City manages to stay in business with this kind of practice.

We initially called because the heating was non-functional -- just blowing cold air. At visit 1, the repairman diagnosed the problem as the heating elements having burned out completely, and he ordered the replacement parts. These took a while to arrive. At visit 2, the repairman installed the elements, wired everything back together, turned it on to check that all was working and left. The next day, the heating system started to produce an unpleasant burning-oil or plastic smell when it was on. I checked the heating elements and the housing for drips of oil, found nothing, called GCPH again. They sent a repairman out, who checked everything and determined that the wiring had been put back incorrectly, causing some of the electronics to overheat and make the smell. They had the good grace not to charge me for the second call. Still, my confidence in their ability to repair heating systems has not recovered.

It took the plumber six hours and three trips to get parts for the simple job to be completed. Then they wanted to charge me over $600.

The technician showed up, he was running just a little late. The technician looked at the dryer, which had stopped running, and determined that both of the heating units were both burned out. the technician then did the repairs. After the repairs were completed, the technician had taken the time to explain what had happened, and how to prevent future problems with the dryer.

Travis was great - very prompt, completely professional and he really knew his stuff. We thought our shower drain was clogged, but he told us it wasn't - just our drain cover's holes were too small to let the water do it's work. He could've really duped us and "unclogged" the thing and charged us for it, but he didn't - that was great. He fixed our toilets and our outside faucets which were all having problems. We were really happy with his work, and we will use them again if we need a plumber!

They were really good. They came over right away. I liked them. They were really friendly. The only thing I didn't like was that they left the water when they pumped out the drain. The guy left a mess. He was very responsive and punctual. I saved their number in my phone to use them again.

They were very competent and professional. They got the job done as expected. They did a good job. I think the price was fair. For commercial purposes Garden City is very good. I don't have any experience with them on a residential application.

Took 3 estimates.
Researched options on furnaces and chose this one. They responded on time, installed it within the estimated time. We have had no problems with this unit and are very satisfied.

I called the office, was told a repairman was available, and he arrived within several hours. He was polite and professional, even taking off shoes in the house. He had all the needed supplies and the repair was completed within about 1-1/2 hours.

At first he called to tell me he was on his way. He needed directions to our place because we are in the alley. He was very polite and even let me watch while he worked. Very professional and didn't bat an eye when my dog was sniffing him. My dog doesn't usually like males but had no problem with the technician. Now THAT'S a ringing endorsement!!

Our front loading Frigidaire washer broke down and we called Vann's in Missoula (where we'd purchased it) and they told us they didn't service products anymore and Garden City Plumbing and Heating now had that contract. So I called GCPand H and the person was very nice and told me she would have the scheduler call me and make an appointment, which later that day happened. I was told the repair guy would be there between certain hours and that I'd be called when he was on his way. He showed up when expected and gave me the cost to repair the washer - but he had to order the needed parts. I was okay with that. the following week I got a call from the scheduler and set up a time range for the repair guy to return. Again I was told I'd get a call when he was on his way. That call never happened - the repair guy just showed up between the hours I was told he would - which wasn't a big deal because I'd had the day off from work, but if I hadn't and expected a call to be able to leave work to be home when he showed up - now that would have been a problem. The guy did a nice job repairing the machine and I was charged exactly what I was quoted. Overall I am satisfied, except for the little calling glitch.
