He said it would be finished in 10 days, in 45 days the 10x5 area was finally demo'ed and he almost had most of the framing done. Very, Very Slow- Would not recommend this construction company for a by the hour job. After asking him for an estimate of where we were at for several weeks, 45 days later!! He told me Labor was $6400.00 not including the materials. I told him I would finish the project. I was shocked! on the invoice just LABOR was listed as over $7500.00. No hours listed, just a dollar amount. I asked how much he was charging me per hour he told me $45.00 so that is 177 hours of work. Myself, My employee, My plumbers, electricians were around and everybody could verify that no one was there 8 hours a day everyday. Not sure where these hours came from, but I would be embarrassed if he really did spend that many hours for a 10X5 room demo and not all done with framing! I asked several times for itemized hours or any journals of anything and he said "I don't give a s*** what other people do" I paid part of his bill the day I got the invoice (all materials and 1/2 labor) After many discussions back and forth. He lowered his price to $35.00/hour and then wrote down that he worked 161 hours. (Before I didn't have any hours listed) Then he made it sound like a good deal and charged me $45.00/hour again and said 125 hours that is 3 weeks working 8 hours a day. and I'm not stupid, it's the same money! I just paid him everything but $200. He also charged for garbage deposit and claimed he doesn't get it back, I double checked with the garbage company and yes it does get credited back. I am not a person to complain, but this is a bad deal and I know he thinks I am the one that is trying to rip him off! unbelievable!
