Kalispell Regional Medical Center

When my wife was done, they sent her to the emergency room for what was cramps.  Had her doctor been available (he was at home relaxing) he would have known this was the case.  Instead we were advised to call the "call doc" who knew nothing about the case and by protocol only sent her to the ER.  The ensuing bill was near 10,000.00 for which our insurance only paid a part leaving us with a bill of $2700.00.  Two kickers:  the hand out from the ER recommended walking around with a hot pad if you have cramps.  The hand out from Kalispell Gastroenterology said to call the"call doc" who knew nothing.  Kicker number two was that according to hospital policy they were supposed to tell us about alternative tests.  We learn now that the Cologuard and the QuickVue iFOB tests are making colonoscopies irrelevant in most cases.  The whole process is based on greed and the publc has a right to know!

Dept tried to help me with it!We have had several family members admitted to Kalispell Regional in the last few years. The experiences have been extremely good. But this time we noticed that all the staff were so very friendly and cordial to one another as well as us (They may have been before and we did not notice it so much) They were not long on staff as it was Sunday Mother's Day morning but they all pitched in to do what needed to be done and made sure the patient and me his helper were well taken care of.  On one of my last visits, I could not get my Ipad to work-The entire IT dept. tried to help me (I am not kidding). When my Mom was in there several times they were so kind and gentle to her that I was very impressed. The food is terrific (all my husband wanted after surgery was strawberry shakes and the called for them whenever he wanted them). I think they are really doing something right at this hospital that other hospitals should take note of.  I know they have drawn some extremely good docs here. (Dr Kyle Tubbs of Glacier ENT is exceptional in all ways) So I would not hesitate to have any surgery or any ohter procedure at Kalispell Regional.  I even like the beautiful flowers at the entry! Good Job!

The staff was very friendly. I had my two children with me and they couldn't go into the X-ray room, so the staff watched them for about 5 minutes while I took the X-rays. They gave them coloring books. The staff has been friendly each time I have been there, they are consistent.
