BIG JOHN'S

One deliver guy came to the house, drove the tractor out of the garage and onto the trailer, he used one strap across the middle of the tractor to secure it. Big John's call my parents a week later on June 6th and stated that it would cost $850.00 to fix the broken steering column, bent front wheel, replace belt and sharpen blades. They told them that they would come down and look at the tractor. On June 7th they went down to Big John's and they had totaled our tractor - the steering column was broken, you could pick it up out of the tractor. When asked how this could have happened they were told that, that was the condition it was in when they picked it up that the delivery guy said it took two of them to lift it onto the trailer; yet there was only ONE deliver guy that came to the house and my parents are in the 80"s are not physically able to do that kind of lifting.. After arguing with Big John's,the manager said he would look into it and call them later that afternoon. By Friday morning we still had not from Big John's so my son took my parents back down to discuss the matter and the deliver person had changed his story and said that yes he had driven it out of the garage and onto the trailer however it was difficult to do. Then the owner came out with the paperwork and said that when my mom called she told them the steering needed to be fixed, which was most definately not the case. We have witnesses who saw that I was driving the tractor to mow and sweep the lawn a few days before Big John's came to pick it up. Big John's returned the tractor to our driveway and the matter is still not resolved. We are in process of reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and taking them to small claims court.
